Arrival

Postby Hayzees » 22 Apr 2008 07:01

Morning all. Our flight into Dalaman leaves Bristol at about 4pm and takes about 4.5 hours. Assuming all goes according to plan and is on time (!!!), what time can we expect to arrive at icmeler (we are at the Pinewood). Also, are there likely to be any shops open where we can quickly get a restorative bottle of beer/brandy/water???

You will probably find it is nearer 3.5-4hrs and the transfer time will depend on what company you booked the transfers with

How long do ICR transfers take between Dalaman and Icmeler, do you go straight to Icmeler or are there lots of other drop offs, and what is the cost?

Thanks

£90 up to 4 people £110 up to 9 people and after that £15 per person

Takes approx 1.5 hrs and doesn't stop unless you want one and if there is another drop then will be in Icmeler and as the buses only hold 14 people is quick and there is a fridge with free refreshments

Thanks for that. Is it £90 return and is it best to book now or wait until flight times have been confirmed? We don't travel until 11th Aug.

John, just to confirm your previous post - it's only £110 for 9 people if they've booked the accommodation through ICR, am I right?

Thanks all for replying - the ICR info also gives valuable food for thought for further visits! Just can't wait to be on our balcony on that first night, relaxing after the trip with a drink and two whole weeks stretching out in front of us.

Hayzees, remember to get your Brandy at duty free at Dalaman. Imported spirits are expensive in Turkey

Elkie: no that was John's post. you can always book now and confirm your flight times when they become certain or book when you are comfortable. No problems...

As for the price, it does not differ whether you book your accommodation thru ICR or not.

Enjoy your holidays!

Hi Hayzees

I'm on the 4pm flight from Bristol when I go next month too :D it lands at 10.10pm local time so I am expecting to be at my apartment around midnight (that's with private transfer).

Dalaman airport isn't normally too bad at that time of night so hopefully we'll make a quick exit - if there are any hold-ups it's normally the visa queue...

Some mini-markets will be open when you get there (quite a few are 24 hour).

Steve's right, if you prefer a named brandy, best to buy at Bristol airport or on arrival at Dalaman - I remember last summer there were some good offers on spirits at Bristol. But if, like me, you're not fussy about brand you can pick up the "local" stuff quite cheaply - certainly ok if you're going to add a flavoured mixer (like coke/lemonade) - you probably won't even notice the difference after 2 or 3!

Hayzees

If you've got a private transfer, they'll usually call at a 24 hour shop in Icmeler if you ask them
Or failing that, there's a 24 hour shop near to the Pinewood - just head towards the main road in front of the Pinewood and it's opposite Deja Vu ... you can't miss it
