Hi all
I was wondering if anyone can help, I am thinking of buying beach towels in Icmeler to save a few pounds on the luggage allowance. Do you need to wash the towels before you use them or will they be ok to use straight away?

Thanks
Alison

I bought some last year and used them straight away. I only used them for laying on as it was so hot I wanted to dry naturally.

They should be ok to use straight away - but I wouldn't go for really dark colours.
A few years ago on the beach a couple had bought a navy blue towel and a red towel, they were sunbathing (it was extremely hot) and i suppose where they'd sweat, the colour had run onto their skin - it was so funny (shouldn't laugh!)

Last August on the bit of beach in front of the Yakamoz we had our beach towels washed and dried for about 1 lira - we left them with one of the boys on leaving the beach and they were clean and dry ready for us the next day - brilliant!

I agree I always buy my beach towels from a lovely lady on the canal area, usualy get a pink one and a pale blue one and use them straight away, then half way through the holiday take them the laundry and get them washed and dried for a couple of lira :D

I had to buy towels last year, because I forgot to bring them. I used them straight away and they were fine. I suppose I should have taken them to the launderette. Once bought a black towel which became so hot if you left the sun bed you could not lie on it.

While reading about colours running, it reminded me of a bag I bought in Marmaris a couple of years back. Lovely red one to match a top I had. He did the usual things on it, put a lighter to it, real leather etc.

Anyway, the following holiday, I was walking around Icmeler market, holding my bag close to my chest for obvious reasons. With the heat and sweat, I had a big red dye stain on my favourite white T shirt

Well I got towels when I was there in september as I was there for 4 weeks and noticed that every time I got dried with them I had little bits of fluff on me from the towel, not so noticeable if a light colour but mine was dark ish blue. If these towels are the same I would say just get them washed, as everyone said easy to take them to the cleaners right?
