Icmeler in late september-october

Postby Sabbalo » 15 Apr 2008 22:38

Hi everyone. I have been there in june before and it was getting hotter day by day. How is the weather usually like in fall? Are there flies/mosquitos? I hope the restaurants, shops...will still be open in fall? We would probably fly out on sept 22 and return home on oct 14.
hmm.....thanks..

Hello Sabbalo
I have been many times at this time of year.It is usually still nice and warm during the day but once October arrives it starts to go cooler at night. The flies and mosquitos start to die off and the local council can be seen spraying these insects at night. There is also a risk of storms at this time, but don't be put off they dont last long. You will find most places still open............by that I mean bars, restaurants and shops and the market of course.
Regards

We have been the last two years in September/October and had good weather last year was great, apart from a couple of days of rain and thunderstorms but you expect that at that time of year and doesn't normally last that long. I like this time of year as the weather is good and not roasting hot so bearable.

Bars and restaurants still open.

Mozzies still about I got a few bites last year.

I also love late Sept and beginning of October, its much more bearable during the day.

You might need a cardigan some evenings and get a thunderstorm or two thrown into your holiday, but they dont last long and the sun usually comes out quickly once again.

We have never been bothered with flies or mosquitos at that time of year, but there may be a few wasps as they are just dieing off.

All the restaurants and bars are open, although toward the end of your holiday you might see one or two packing up for the season, but its a really lovely time of the year.

Me and OH are going the first 2 weeks in October again this year, so may see you around.

Ihope you both have a great holiday.

Mary

We were there last year from 29th Sept - 12th Oct. The weather was perfect and apart from a bit of a hurricane thingy that only lasted a couple of hours, we didn't see any rain. We even found it warm enough in the evenings not to wear cardies etc.

My OH usually gets eaten alive by mozzies, but only got bit a few times.

All the bars were open, but the resort isn't as busy as in peak season. We found that a plus point though, in that you get more chance to have a chat with the Turkish friends etc

Welcome to the forum by the way :)

Hi Sabbalo

welcome to the forum.

We were in Icmeler the first week in October last year and it was lovely.
It was nice and warm both during the day and in the evening.

We didn't have any trouble with flies or mossie's, but as Mary said the wasps are dozy at this time of year, I got stung when I brushed one off my sunbed.

I would recommend this time of year as it is quieter than June, July and August.

Saying that, there is still plenty going on and all the shops, bars and restaurants were still open.

We are going middle of May and then back again in October.

Kazz, we were there at that time and remember the strong winds. We like to go at that time of the year. The weathers fine, just the odd wet day. Never had to wear anything warm in the evening :D

hi sabbalo, we have gone at this time for the last five years.the weather is just about perfect ,hot during the day and cooler {not cold} at night.this year we are taking two seventy plus refined ladies to watch them terrorise the barboys and teach stella some swear words.
ps if it does get chilly you can always buy a pashmina on the canal
