not a good weekend

hi. everyone....
we booked our holiday last october for 21 days on the 27th july, and we got an email from our tour operater yesterday informing us that our flight had been cancelled....what a bummer !, and get this no alternatives have been offered to us, so we phoned them to find out why and no reason was given, they also said we would have to compensate the apartments we booked as they would also be cancelled as no flights are available for the dates we need, what do you all think of that.
we are trying to get another holiday for a bit earlier maybe june/early july, as we are going to be grandparents for the first time in the middle of july,we don't want miss that while we are on holiday, our daughter would never forgive us.
we wondered if it was something to do with a 21 day holiday, rather than 14, has anyone else had this happen, i hope we can get something else as we would'nt like to do without our icmeler fix this year.
spoke to leon from the havana he offered his spare room, but it's a flight thing i told him, but was'nt that nice of him, he's now my favourite turk, lol.

Give John a call at ICR although the agent you booked through does not have flights for the dates you want ICR might have all it takes is a phone call and that could save your holiday the number is 0151 289 3939

Bit confussed as why you would have to compensate appartments did you book flights and appartments at the same time with travel agent?

I take it you would have paid a deposit when booking. If they cant give you original dates. I would go back and ask them to change my booking to the new dates you want.

As SWC24 says give ICR a call they might be able to fix you up.

i'm confused too lynn, we did book both accomodation and flghts together,we've also given them new dates and they say they will get back to us.
If we have no joy with them we will take you and steve's advice and give John a call.

Sorry to hear that topasmire have been let down, can you say who your tour opperators are.?Try contacting ABTA and ATOL and I hope you get it sorted. I would like to remind most of you the cheapest is not always the best..................I am sure you know this

As others have said keep on at the agents as they should have offered an alternative. You could check online for flights and then if you find them for 3 weeks tell them.
