I don't see why not paty, I always take my i-pod. Just not allowed to have it in use during take off and landing.

I wish we could use them during take off, it's my worst nightmare

Yes you can take your cd player on board, as jivebunnie says you can't use it during take off or landing, but aprt from that it's fine. I take mine. It was barabara steisand last year, sad I know, but very soothing.

It's the only time I listen to her is when I'm on a plane...lol.

I have trouble sleeping on planes so need something to take my mind off it, and the boredom and wanting to get there. Plus I am tall so find planes very uncomfortable. So good old barbara puts me at ease.

Paty Don't know if it's the same but Belfast airport counts those type of CD players as hand luggage and as they only allow 1 piece per person from Belfast Airport it means you can't take a bag unless you put the player into a small holdall. So I would check with the airport.Hope this helps.

Why don't you buy an mp3 player, you can fit loads of albums on and when not in use fits in your pocket. The kids took their's with them last year along with a small mp3 speaker which we used while in the apartment or on the beach. Tesco sell the mp3 player for about £10.00 and the speaker was on special at £4.00 Bargain

Or just get a little portable personal cd player if you dont want an MP3 player thats what I use. Just fits into your hand luggage nicely. Dead cheap now.
