Benidorm anyone??

Postby elkie » 30 Mar 2008 14:41

Did anyone watch the first episode of the second series of Benidorm last Friday? Not only is it funny but it reminds me of what we're missing going to Icmeler every year - a big fat nothing!! At one point as the young couple were getting out of a taxi, a guy they'd spoken to at the airport said to them 'welcome to paradise'. My hubby turned to me and said that's what Mustafa said to us when we arrived at Greenworld, difference being our view wasn't of a concrete jungle 10-12 floors high but of the gorgeous pine-clad mountains of Icmeler. No contest!!!

It reminded me of this forum and how people speak so favorably about Icmeler, it did give me a chuckle   , I mean how could paradise be Benidorm when it is most definitely Icmeler

I havent been to Benidorm myself and dont want to go. I just know what I like and it is our paradis of Icmeler

I'm going to Benidorm in 3 weeks. Not been for about 9 years. Not somewhere I would normally go, but it's my other halfs bitrthday so we wanted to go away, and when we looked we got a flight for £40 return each so thought we'd stay in the old town and stear well clear of the new town. The old town isn't that bad. But I admit not a patch on Icmeler, going there in 10 weeks, can't wait.

Not true at all. Everyone likes where they like without comparisons. I have been going to Benidorm for many years and I like it for differnt reasons but for my main holiday I love Icmeler. I don't think anyone would disagree that Benidorm is not paradise but there are those who
( perish the thought) think Icmeler isn't either. Each to their own.

Have a great birthday bash Truth. As people have said, it wouldn't do for us all to be the same, variety is the spice of life etc. And as you're on this forum I take it you love Icmeler too?

Benidorm

Postby D Craddock » 31 Mar 2008 09:53

I agree entirely with Tinkerbell. We have been going to Benidorm for many years as an after winter break,in fact we go this Thursday for a week. We mainly stay in the old town. The resort has anything a person particularly wants. The tv series about Benidorm in my opinion gives it a bad name stereotyping people who go there. It is;nt what we see or experiance.
Having said all of this I still would not go anyware else but Icmeler for my summer hols. See you July 21st for two weeks.

Have been going to Benidorm for years same as Turkey but we go for a different reason than going to Icmeler, love most holidays we go on there are a couple of exceptions to this, places we have been but would never return to but for our reasons would never put someone off going to a destination because of our personal opinions that is our opinion there outlook on the destination might be completely different.
