Hi Lynn

Check the excursion page of ICR out http://www.icmeleronline.com/icmeler_excursions.php

There's lots of excursions on there, not used them yet but look forward to using them when I visit icmeler this year there prices seem very good.

Hope this helps

Steve

for coach trips, look into cappadocia...its world famous place and gets visitors from all over the world...including Japan and Canada.

for a closer trip, think about Izmir. 3rd largest city of Turkey and only 3 hours by car (if I am driving:) or 5 hours by bus ;) - there is a bus everyday from the bus terminal in marmaris.
Rami

good advise rami

I like it there.

I don't think I have never found a better place to doss on a Sunday afternoon and the people who bought a DVD from me will see everyone sleeping after a few beers

Gypsy Beach is lovely, what a place to relax and doss as Admin puts it  Lovely setting and the sea was very warm. There was a nice breeze there too.

tinkerbelle. Not sure if it's easy to get to Cappadocia from Icmeler. We actually stayed in Alanya one year just so we could do a 4 day trip to Cappadocia. :)

Know of a moonlight boat trip

PostPosted: 30 Mar 2008 21:37

There was a moonlight trip about 4 years ago that sank and I had a phone call from the British Consulate in Marmaris at about 4am one morning letting me know about this and that they had had a phone call from someone who was stranded on an island somewhere

I haven't got a clue if everyone was safe or what happened to the boat itself.

I remember one going from Marmaris harbour last year and looked like and over sized gondola.

Moonlight Cruise

Ohhhhhhhhh I remember our first ever trip to Turkey about 8 years ago. We stayed in Marmaris. Walking down promanade we were approached by touters giving FREE tickets on a 'Midnight Cruise'. It was free so we agreed to go. :D It was our wedding aniversary and we imagined a nice romantic cruise by moonlight, soft music, wonderful scenary etc...

Got on a HUGE ship at 11.30pm, everyone was frisked on boarding and NO drinks were allowed to be brought on board - not even bottled water!

The boat then driffted about 50 yards away from the jetty and the bar opened. and the very loud DISCO started OMG the prices were unbelieavable - VERY expensive - More than UK's night club prices. We were stranded on board for 3 HOURS! on a floating nightclub with NO escape!

The boat used it's engines only in short bursts on 30 seconds every 20 mins and the boat just 'Driffted' around Marmaris bay. A nightmare trip!

Most people were complaining  children were crying  and some of the adults even jumped ship and SWAM back to shore!

So if you are offered a FREE midnight Cruise - Think before you go
