Just returned from another wonderful holiday in Icmeler. Spent most evenings in the Fess Bar relaxing to the live music provided. The staff and setting are wonderful. the only problem we had was with the staff at the Pig and Whistle - THE ONLY WORD I CAN USE TO DESCRIBE THEM ( THAT IS ALLOWED) IS IGNORANT. Thye were jealous because the Fess had costomers and they didn't so played their music as loud as the could to try and stop people going to Fess. This did not work , I long with a good number of other people stayed at Fess and enjoyed our evenings singing along. If anybody is looking for somewhere relaxing to go to fess Bar - up the raod from The Munamar and to everybody else KEEP CLEAR OF THE PIG AND WHISTLE.

I'm sorry to disagree with you, but over the years we have become very good friends with Rudolph the owner of the pig and whistle. As long as it is before 12 he is allowed to play his music as loud as he wants, also he and the owner of the Fez bar get along fine, the staff from the fez regularly come round to borrow ice.
Please don' t ask people not to use the pig and whistle, as like everybody else he is only trying to make a living.

i would not say they were friendly with each other - especially over the past 2 weeks. yes music can be played as loud as you can but to suddenly put a speaker on a pole in the direction of the Fess bar - I don't think is fair. having been in the same bar for the last 3 years I have seen no problems until this holiday.

Must agree with mopitt. Have just returned and must admit the Pig and Whistle were goign overboard with their music. Perhaps Fess were playing theirs loud but they had to as it was so bad from the Pig and Whistle. This did not happen last year - I was able to sit and relax in The Fess Barr enjoying the music- I must admit I feel the Fess bar is winning- they must have been making a hell of a loss next door- nobody appeared to go in. Mind you I don't blame them - being hassled both at lunchtime and in the evening does not go down well and to be insulted by them is not acceptable. Remember word is spread by tourists and I certainly did this during my stay in Icmeler. Jim

Andy I don't actually know who Rudolph is - I don't think this is directed at him but I feel he must know what is happening in his bar. I have been in
Icmeler for many years, although we have not drank in the Pig and Whistle we were never hassled or treated like we were this year. We have drank in The Fess Bar for the last 3 years and up until this year there was no problem - I do not know what set it off but I a long with may others did not let it spoil the music in the Fess Bar in actual fact it lead to a bit of more enjoyment as we were singing and cheering as loud as we could.

Hi Andy.
It sounds as though Rudolph has got to try and earn some support.
Everytime I pass the Pig and Whistle there is no one in,I do in fact know one of the guys up front, cant think of his name but met him again this August.

Mop,
We go next week and if there is any problems i will certainly let rudolph now, we too have spent many a enjoyable night in the fess bar listening to the two very talented singers , and never had any disturbance from next door. When we were there in june rudolph did have a hassler who i found very irritating {liked to dance on tables and genuingly be a right prat] which was not really not inkeeping with the bar. If i find these posts are correct i will certainley let my and other peoples complaints known to him so that hopefully he can rectify the situation.

Hi Mop!!!!!!!
We have just come back from
Icmeler too and found the Fess bar wonderful. All the staff were very welcoming and the family just seem to want you to be one of them, we miss them all greatly. BUT the Pig and Whistle was just tooooooo loud. It's hardly surprising they had no customers

Aaahhh, what a shame, dont know rudolf, but it sounds like he needs to get rid of the idiot, why does he let him get away with being a pratt and turning people off coming into the bar with his behaviour?
poor rudolf
