Myself and my partner are hopefully moving over in the next two years, ive read lot's of things on residencey permits, work permits vias etc and it all seems so confusing... if i make an appointment with the turkish embassy in london will they go through everything that is needed for a safe and legal move? once there we are going to rent for the first year or so to make sure weve made the right decision, then we will have to look into obtaining a mortgage... it all seems such a headache but i will do anything to achieve my dream of living out there.

Any help from someone already done similar would be gratefully appreciated

you dont need to apply at that end, you can always apply for residency permit here and officials here will give you a list of documents to submit to them. The process is easy and smooth. Just make sure you have a bank account with some money in it and a rental contract for a place...

Going to embassy to sort it out would give you a bigger headache in my opinion.
