[i][b]Hi Tracy welcome to the 'family'. As far as I know, Kurt Apartments are towards the old village, but still within walking distance of the beach. One of my friends stayed there 3 years ago and said they were excellent.

I'm sure you'll get more replies

Hi Tracy and wellcome to the forum.
I envy you in a way, this being your first time to Icmeler.
You are going to have a holiday like you have never had before.
The friendlyness of the people,The food in the restaurents, the music and dancing in the bars and of course our Icmeler with its canal and mountains.

Did I say I envy you Tracy? what I should have said is that I experience these feelings and see these sights every time I visit Icmeler.

Hi Murray

I'm booked for Kurt Apartments in June.

Can you let me know what they are like when you get back.

Dont worry about flying, it's one of the safest forms of transport. Once you're up there you'll be fine, sit back relax and enjoy a drink from the trolley.

Hi Murraymints

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure my fellow icmelerites will put you mind at ease when we tell you that the flight will be well worth it when you get there - in fact you will be sad to leave.

As for the Kurt Apts, we stayed there in 2006. This was the year when trade was quite bad for the locals. The apartments are lovely, the pool is great, the view from the balcony is beautiful.

I found the family friendly but a bit pushy - but I later put that down to the fact that they had not done so well that year.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Hope you enjoy your stay there. :)

Hi all,

I know it's been a long time since I've posted on this forum, and today I thought I'd read back some of my earlier posts, such as the one above where it was my first time to Icmeler (and first time flying).

I am now on my third time in Icmeler!! My first time was for one week in Kurt Apart, then the next year 10 days in Grand Aquarium, and this time it's increased to a two week stay in Green Mar. As for my fear of flying I've also travelled to Majorca and Lanzarote in between, so I think I'm over that little problem now :D .

Our first stay was great! and we met some really nice people and had some really good food in a little place called Noels. The next year (2009) Noels had shutdown, but have this year by chance we bumped into Ugur again, and barman Recep as well as the chef, in Broadway. Great people, truely missed, and food is still very good. We also tracked down ex-Noels doorman Tom who is working very hard on the entertainment at Bamboo Beach.

I'm a little bit saddened by the missing stalls along the canal and the now empty underground market. I also hope the smaller restuarants are able to survive the increasing number of All-Inclusive visitors, not to mention the need for a paid-up licence to provide entertainment these days. It's already noticeable that the non-fun pubs are quieter than earlier years.

That aside I am still really enjoying the holiday(s) here and never look forward to going home.

PS: A note on excursions, we always go on at least the Dalyan trip and a boat trip. However, this year we tried the Jeep safari as well for the first time ... lots of fun!!! Be warned though, you may get a little bit wet
