going to icmeler in may, thought about taking a small telescopic fishing rod. Wonder if it was ok to fish of the harbour and if the fish are edible, or if there are any poison fish and if i need a licence

Haydn,

Fish away and if I am there at the time you are welcome to chip in with us and get a boat to ourselves and will probably take Zaza along to use as the anchor

hi haydon we are going 10th may i usualy fish off the harbour ,there are plenty of fish to be caught ,but all small during the day, there are some fish you have to be careful with as they have sharp spines which are poisonous ,but as long as you take care youll be ok , i usually go out on a fishing trip costs about 14 pound 4to5 hours and they pick you up and take you back to your hotel ,but its a good trip out .the locals usually fish at night for baracuda and what ever else comes along from boats but the fish do come close in at night ,bait needed is fresh chicken diced up ,if you dont want the fish you catch im sure the locals will as they love fish in turkey.may see you there im sure youll enjoy it.

Just purchased a new rod to take to Icmeler in August, wanted something small so went for the Penrod extreme and a small rear drag reel, ordered last Thursday from the USA and it arrived yesterday.

Looking forwards to doing a bit of fishing while on the boat trips, it's only light tackle but should cope with 5/6lb fish if I am lucky to get one that size.
