holiday info

Postby sanjo » 25 Feb 2008 20:07

Hi all,
When we were in Icmeler last we met a lady who was telling us about a place called Datca or Dacha. (I think that sounds about right).
Anyway she was telling us how lovely it was there.
Does anyone have any info on this? Where it is? whats there and how to get there etc. :?: :?: :?:

Hi Sandra, we went to Datca last year on a trip through our hotel (Golmar Beach) who are just starting a new venture there. They have swimming pools with water chutes and restaurants already built and were to be starting on the hotel building during the winter. This was on the outskirts of Datca but looking along the beach (which was deserted) you can see the resort of Datca with looked absolutely beautiful. A large bay which whitewashed buildings built into the hillside. Other than that I can't tell you very much, it took just under an hour to get there from Icmeler and the scenery enroute was spectacular. We hope to do the trip again this year.

This is an old post and ICR do this trip.

DATCA.

one of the nicest places I have had the fortune to visit.

Leaving Icmeler and heading towards the Bozburun Peninsular it took one and an half hours through winding roads and picturesque villages, driving over a mountain range where to to one side was the Bay of Marmaris and to the other the Bay of Bodrum.
Onward we travelled passing some windmills till we came accross DATCA.
A true Turkish town whos market meandered through the quaint streets and not one bit of hassle.
Tree lined promenades with bars and restaurents suiting all tastes.

Boasting two beaches,an harbour and first class country park.
DATCA is most certainly a place I intend to make a repeat visit.

Sorry Gene. The previous post sounded like I was saying it was a shame you still had Ann. Didn't mean that at all
