Hi everyone
This is nothing to do with Icmeler or Holidays, but I would just like to know how many people actually know that the retirement age in the UK has now changed, from age 65 to anything up to age 68 I only found out about this a few weeks ago when I enquired about early retirement,I was totally unaware of this.

Yes it applies to both men and women, sexual equality and all that.

I also undertand that it will be on a sliding scale upto 68

I was born in 1963 and I understand my new retirement age is 65 and 8 months

Not that simple

The state retirement age is still 65 for men until 2024 but you cannot get the state pension any earlier now,but womens retirement ages start going up for all women born after 1951 my wife was due to retire in 4 years time but now it is 7 years.

Not sure about my actual retirement age now. I do know that I cannot pick up my state pension until I am 62 as I was born in 1952. It's on a sliding scale for those born between 1950-1955.
