Just read about the smoking ban they are bringing into effect over the next 18 months in restaurant, bars and offices, has anyone else heard about this and what are your views?

I say ban cigarettes completely for health reasons and also because I like my clothes smelling of clothes and not stale smoke.

I also say I hate people telling us what we can do and what we can't do

we are used to the ban in England now but the turkish might find it hard to get used to as some of them smoke constantly

I think the Turks will find this very hard. Do you think this is part of the plan to get into the EU?

The smoking ban was brought in,in Spain in 2006 and lasted 6 weeks before business's started to lose a lot of money, this country will find the smoking ban starting to close business's this year it makes me laugh as all this started in Germany France and other european countries and they have no intention of bringing in a total smoking ban,Turkey is another matter.

i have to say that i dont believe in the smoking ban and that is with me being a non smoker all my life not even being able to pass a cigarette between people, aying that when we went to eat at a poular restaurant last year in the old village it was spoilt bt the family sat in front of us smoking constantly ,seeemed like when one was out they would start another i just think a little consideration for other diners is not a lot to ask for

totally agree Jeff - and yes I am a smoker for my sins
seems to me that smoking may as well be made illegal in the UK - apart from the huge amounts of revenue it generates that is, which appears to be at odds with the [uk] ban
best sign off before I get on my soap box ha ha

don't worry though, we'll be considerate if our paths cross!!!
