exchange rates money

Postby jackonews » 05 Jan 2008 21:20

i am getting concerned about exchange rates turkey now down to about 2.19,this is a big change from last year at about 2.65 and the previous year when it was about 3.00.

now i know we will say well what the h**l we are on holiday and we must support our freinds, but i think this year we have a problem.
its not turkey or euro land who are to blame i suppose but somewhere you have got to cut the cloth to suit your purse.

there is another problem with flight price.. they are through the roof can not find a price within £100 + against last year(booked 4th jan 2007).

SO i am affraid that turkey could be in for a lean season ahead, and we have been 2 times each year for the last 5 or 6 years.

our package self booked last yaer will cost £300 more this year for the 2 of us at the moment.just hope i can drop on a deal one day that fits the bill

Yeah same problem here. We visit 3 times a year but may have to cutback this year because of flight costs plus we will need more spending money because of low exchange rates. Have you tried *******t? Sometimes you can pick up a flight under £200 with them. :)

EDIT: Sorry we do not allow advertising

Hi All

If you spent 2650 YTL (£1000) last year for your two week hols at the current exchange rate it is going to cost £1210 to get the same 2650YTL

It might mean Icmeler may be quiter this year and you may be able to get a bargin if you book later in the year

There will be NO such thing as last minute this year.

Flights are so expensive because there are not that many left

I do not understand why you have edited Sue Pryors answer she only mentioned an airline that may be cheaper that is not advertising that is just being helpful no one edited my post a while ago when I mentioned how much our flight had cost with ******** you must all work to the same guidelines or it creates problems.

Geovil

I did not edit the post maybe Colette did but if so she was correct in doing so.

This forum is run with a set of rules by the people who staff it in their own time.

Maybe you should give us the link to your post that was not edited so Colette can also edit that one.

We do not have a problem with people mentioning airlines but we do with other agencies being advertised on here.

If you owned a shop that sold bread I don't think you would like someone standing on your doorstep telling people that the shop around the corner is cheaper and they should go there, get it

Yes I edited the posting and will continue to edit any others that I spot on the forum, if I miss one or two it could be because I am only human.

you must all work to the same guidelines or it creates problems.

Well thanks for that we never would have known that
