Late holiday Review

Well where do I start.

Flight was fine. Got to our hotel only to find out it had changed it's name from Hotel Esenkoy to Villa Mar. The price of safety deposit boxes and air con were £1.00 more per day than orginially advised.

First six days were quite good then I got some form of severe food poisoning - only wish I knew where I'd got it from and never been so ill in my life. Spent three days in my room and eventaully had to call out the doctor - I felt that death would have been kinder. Doctor gave me loads of pills and said I would be better within 24 - 48 hours. Went to the doctors surgery on the saturday and he gave me another pill. Couldn't wait to get home.

All in all Icmeler was a lovely place, we got fed up of being bothered by Turks wanting us to eat and drink in their establishments and also wanting us to buy their wares in the shops.

Very disappointed as now I feel I won't visit this place again due to being so ill. Maybe one day I'll feel brave enough again.

Sorry to hear you were so ill.My mum was in bed for most of our 2weeks in Sept..luckily i only had one day of it,but do think there was a bug going around,as know alot of people that were ill.
Hope you wont be too put off.

Hotel Esenkoy and Villa Mar are two completely different hotels and about 5 minutes from each other in Icmeler.

I think the bug was brought in to Turkey from the UK unless there was a Turkish person spending his holidays at Butlins when the place was evacuated and everyone sent home just before I flew to Turkey

Believe me there was a bug going round, we got the full story daily from John about it

Hope you do return to Icmeler one day Gill as it's such a lovely place I have been going for 7 years and still founds loads of new things to do and see this year.
