Arrived back about 7pm last night.
We flew from Liverpool on 3rd Sept at 7am and arrived to blistering heat 3hrs 45mins later, it was a very quick flight as the winds were blowing us there I think!!

The transfer only took an hour and a half because we didn't have a comfort stop which I was glad about.
We arrived at Pinewood appts about 4.45pm. They are lovely clean appts with very nice staff ,always polite even if when we didn't eat there.

We didn't even unpack but put our Icmeler togs on and went to see one of our dearest friends, Umbashir who runs the Miami restaurant in the old village, he is such a hardworking man who always makes you feel so welcome. The views from there are amazing!

We had a lovely meal at Captain Bullshits and met Mel & Ali's new baby who is lovely.
We had some nice days at the beach and a beach boy who called himself William Shakespeare entertained us by making a sand sculptured heart decorated with flowers for a girl on the next sunbed but she wasn't impressed! He brought us beers and snacks whenever we wished.

We called into ICR and met Sharon & Tracy who seem lovely, best wishes for when you have the baby Tracy, and for showing us round the Iguana appts which are lovely.

I have been to Icmeler many times and have never been ill but this time on my final week I caught a bug and had terrible pains across my stomach. I stayed in bed for one day, shivering and feeling sorry for myself. The chemist said many people had got the same bug.
It did spoil my hol a bit but has not put me off returning.
I will continue in another post as I think I am going on too long

Continued...
Met Kimlew & her husband at Pinewood and had a lovely chat and a drink. We also called to see Bec at 3 Bells one night but she was out.

It was nice not to be hassled so much as previous years , the only hassle we got was from the hairdressers as someone said on a previous post.
Prices have gone up but its the cost of living, happens everwhere!

Had a lovely flight home but friends who we were with ,had a lot of cigs in their cases that they had bought on the way out and then bought more in Dalaman on the way home. They were stopped by customs who made them pay the duty on them.
Someone told us that they now X ray cases as they are coming off the plane at Liverpool to stop the cigarette smuggling, don't know if its true.
Sorry for going on so long and have some pics to post if Collette will do it for me when she comes home

Sounds like you had a lovely holiday Skilly, i love reading peoples reviews.

I was in Icmeler on 25th August and i became very ill with terrible stomach pains and shivers, so there must have been some kind of bug going around, i came home on 27th August and i was still not good for 1 week.

Yup, just back myself and both myself and the wife ended up with what sounds like the same stomch bug for over a week! :(

First time we had been to Icmeler for 2 weeks and had planned on doing so much but the bug kinda ruined those plans! :( :(

Yeah we had imodium and Anadin extra with us which helped a tiny wee bit, so eventually ended up going to the Chemist over there and was given two medicines which did actually help...one to stop the diarhoea and the other to kill the stomach bug!

We kept missing the chemist being open, they shut at 10pm unlike the other shops!

I went to the chemist and got 2 different types of med. There were already a couple of people in there for the same thing.
The chemist was reeling off instructions on how and when to take meds parrot fashion, as if many people had already been in, it was like a conveyor belt.
The meds didn't make me very much better, but once I arrived home and had to go to work it vanished, can you believe that
