Temperatures the first week were in 40s, with not a cloud to be seen anywhere, towards the middle of the second week clouds appeared and things cooled down slightly, especially at night, which was very welcome.
We had problems with the air conditioning in our hotel, but we were eventually moved to the top floor where it was absolute bliss, air conditioning at the press of a button and the views of Icmeler Bay from our balcony were breath taking.
Had great meals at Champagne Bar, The Olive Tree, Vinces. ZaZa at the Havana Bar provided many appetizing lunches, and was great place to go for the last few drinks before going back to the hotel, Havana Bar is also great for people with children as there are lots for them to do there while the parents enjoy a relaxing drink or two. Oh I almost forgot, Café Ann for the delicious strawberry cheese cake.
We had a great time at the Stella Show with our friends Ian, Margot and Mags from Scotland and a new addition to our ‘gang’ Allan from London. Thank you all for your company last week, we had a really great time and look forward to seeing you all again next year.
We all intended to wave at the camera on Sunday, but family back home sent us text messages to say the camera was off line.
Hassle is much less this year than in previous years, although a lot of the bars & restaurants are still trying to ‘show you their menu’ as you walk past. Korsan bar on the canal was closed towards the end of last week.
Although we didn’t stray far from Icmeler this time, and did not do any of the trips we still had a great holiday and can’t wait to go back next year.
