some great places for future visits thanks......not my game this but have to mention one place(this is a forum for advice and guidence) ROMANCE restaurant...we ate several times, mainly because we had become friendly with ALI G who is waiter here over the years, and all seemed fine....HOWEVER we found more than once a little overcharged also bill seemed to increase each time but on the last time we visited my daughter nearly swallowed half a lira found in her icecream on raising this with waiter and owner they quickly removed the coin of us no apology no offer of refund mmmmm i could of throttled the lot of them...... for sure they have lost my business on future visits.....have to mention John co owner who i did not mention it to and seemed like a great guy i'm sure he would of sorted.

Hi rowdyangel, The only restaurant I've been to on your list is the Taj Mahal and have to agree it's fab. Going back next Friday so we'll probably eat there on Saturday.

We always try to go and try new places to eat on each visit.This time when I visit (Sept 24th) will try new places as I am on my own(hubby has too work)No doubt Colette and John from ICR will intoroduce me to new places to eat.

just want to say that we have eaten loads of times in Champagne and never had a bad meal. All the staff are brill and can't do enough for you.

My daughter and i started going to Icmeler in 2005,(twice in 6 weeks ) and for a two week holiday last year with my soon to be fiance and my youngest daughter. Also went for 2 weeks in May this year and stayed at apartments above Champagne. loved it so much that we are returning the 14 Sept and me and my other half are having our engagement party at Champagne then going to Wonderboys over the road on the 15th Sept. Have got to admit that we love the food and the service at Champagne and have always enjoyed the food. Will agree that Waterfall is a very good reataurant and very reasonably priced.

We have decided that even though we are taking our daughters (3 of them between us) we are going to spend time away from them together and try different places to eat and drink.

We are also going to book our honeymoon for the 6th June 2008 while we are over there.

Hopefully we will manage to pop in to the ICR offices and see what deals they have for the honeymoon suite at the Devamli for us. LOL !!!!!!!!!

arrived back on 20th Aug (will post our report later).
Went to the Taj Mahal for the first time this year (been to Icmeler 12 times). It was pants to say the least. We all ordered our food, an english waitress took the order, after a long wait it arrived - my wifes meal did not turn up and we only had 2 pomppadums instead of 6. Eventually my wifes meal did turn up only to have HAIR in the rice!!!! Complained and was told that the chef wears a hair net!!!! It was'nt mine as I have no hair. We knocked off 1 meal plus rice from the bill which created uproar and walked. Its up to you whether you eat here. I WOULD AVOID IT.

just back from Icmeler for our third year running and have to say the Waterfall was fantastic.

You must also try new bar Noel which is run by Leon who used to work at Alvaro and all the lads, Nico, Romeo, Ircan, Naci etc all work there. Food is absolutely fab - you must try the spicy chicken bang bang. You can find this next to the 3 bells.

We also found the Red Lion served delicious food too.

We found Dream Boys a bit disappointing this year so only went once but we did visit Venice a few times as that was very good too

can someone please give me directions to the waterfall restaurant from the canal (beachfront end) as this sounds absolutely lovely!

I always check the bill everywhere, as occasionally we have been charged for drinks we didn't have. If this happens we don't leave a tip, but wonder how many people don't notice or if it's a big group just split the bill and pay up. I must add though it does happen at home too.

how good is this forum it's so good to share our opinions..constructive tho think maybe we all agree so many great places to go in gods land ......think this post has been fab for 1st timers and others i for sure will take note of all posts.

We have just returned from another great holiday in Icmeler, but for the first time in ten years my wife has fell ill. We traced it back to the Friends Resturaunt where we ordered prawn cocktails for starters. It was the first time we have ever eaten there. When they were delivered, I noticed that the sea food sauce was very dark and the prawns very pale. My wife had taken a couple of mouthfulls and brought it to the managers attention that the prawns were warm and did not taste correct. My wife is a chef in the uk and told the manager that the prawns were warm. He stated that his chef did not know that prawns had to be refrigerated (ha). I think he should change his chef! Anyway to cut the story short, it ruined our second week as my wife had the runs (and still has three weeks later) and it took alot out of her. So please anyone who is thinking of eating there be very careful and don't eat any sea food.

I was also ill this holiday...tried Pop Inn for lunch,worst mistake!
I ordered chips and curry...the curry was illuminous yellow,which i think was a powder mixed with tap water!!! hence why i was so sick!!
None of my family finished the food and just wanted to go...also this was the most expensive lunch! The bill came to 63ytl!!! And i know i have mentioned it before but 13ytl for a large coke!!!!! Where as everywhere else is only 5-6ytl.
Wont be going back here again!

3bells-of course always love the food here.If anyone fancies a change try the Korean food,recommend Jab Che and Bi Bim Bap!!

Noel- few meals in here and all gorgeous.Recommend the Mexican Chicken,gorgeous!! Also,the Indian meals in here are is lovely!!

Travellers Rest-first time trying here and wish would of gone sooner,food is gorgeous!! Home Made pies yummy!!

Marios-couple of meals in here...and was lovely! Parents loved the home made Lasagne...also home made pizzas-gorgeous!!!

Dreamboys-had the chinese in here and just like at home.gorgeous!!

Pier 15-our day time hang out.Lovely view into the sea and always a great service from Nick!!

I thought it was only us, but my daughter whent there in August and complained about her meal. Maybe they should take example off other good food outlets such as the Majestic or Venice if they want to remain as a fun bar!

This holiday decided to go to different restaurants from the normal ones we go to

Majestic - Okay
Mr Cook - one of the best meals I had during holiday
Set - great as always (sorry had to go love their baked potatoes)
Kingsland - enjoyable
The Olive Tree (Bon Jour) - edible but nothing to rave about wouldnt rush back
Titanic - Steak Diane was lovely
Chef - Last night meal - steak was beautiful just melted in your mouth.

Noel's - Lunch I had the nicest macaroni cheese I've tasted this will be a place I deffinately go to next year for an evening meal

excellent service ,spotless clean, excellent food , huge portions, happy hour starts at 10 pm and the staff are gentlemen

cheap drinks , great snack food ideal for lunch times

taj mahal
the best indian abroad ive ate in but my local curry house works out cheaper

zafer cafe
serves pancakes and snacks pancakes could feed 3 easy for an outside cafe the toilet was spotless

anne s cafe
had mostly my coffee and cakes here but they do a full menu cakes are to die for

the ones i did rate where
the harmony bar nothing wrong with the meal but nothing you go back for
love boat , your paying for the surronding the meals are over rated

Villa Kontes on the Canal - Very Good Food

Majestic - Very Good, although they try to get in 2 sittings if there's a big England footie match on - our food was served so quickly with not much break in between, and then we would have had about 1 and half hours to wait for the footie, so we decided to go somewhere else to watch.

Love boat - yes slightly more expensive and probably do pay extra for surroundings, but the food is presented beautifully and is excellent. Service also excellent - we go there every year, at least once. But then we are not 'curry and chips' lovers - sorry to those who are, no offence meant.

Kontes Hotel Restaurant - very good meal (and we were also staying there)

Cocoa Beach - Excellent food, and you must ask the guys to take a photo of you ..........see the crowd, including the dummy, from outside, on my pictures..... it was so funny, they kept pulling different people to our table, to join the photo. It was so well done, and hysterical.

Charlies place up the end near where Murdurno Chicken used to be. - Homemade Pasta meals to die for!

Marios - the scene at night from the roof terrace is to die for, but some of the food lets it down - Don't go for the seafood risotto!!! Very salty.

Florida - food was average, but they tried to overcharge us - not sure if intentionally or not, but the guy we complained to never even apologised. Sent another waiter back with the amended bill.

This year was our 1st holiday to Icmeler (going back next year though!). We ate in 7 different restaurants (including one in Marmaris) - here is a list of our favourites:

Had a couple of really good breakfasts at the Set (walked for ages from our apartments to get there but we enjoyed it).

Venice - had great steaks with mexican sauce, service was excellent, good entertainment and all in very reasonably priced

Titanic - fantastic meal - only ate there on our last night. If we had eaten there sooner, we would definitely have returned. Again lovely service and great staff, very friendly.

And last but not least ..............(drum role).......the winner is NOELS - the meals were lovely - meat loaf, steaks, chicken schnitzel, macaroni, chicken coated with garlic, herbs and tomatoes (can't remember what it was called) - it was all REALLY REALLY LOVELY. I don't like chips, so I was always given a huge portion of mashed potatoes - and they were the best I have ever tasted abroad. Friendly fun atmosphere. Relaxed and welcoming. Highly recommended.

got to agree with the villa kontes food was excellent and so was the service we went there a few times

simpsons was good food too for your money all though the last meal we had there was'nt as good.

noels was a very nice place would recommend it

we went to the chinese to next to the bazar which was very nice food and service

not so good

the liverpool chippy,the food was'nt that nice to be honest last year was better and they tried charging us to much.

the buffalo was very poor service,the staff really did'nt care it seemed,the main course was nicebut the starter was terrible.

Just got back last night...great time but amazing storm on thursday night....ooohh!Best meal we had was at the Lemon Tree and most extensive menu we saw.Another at Kerem on the canal,traditional Turkish.Dreamboys was ok,entertainment a laugh,but we complained about the poor little monkey who was outside on the grass in a small cage during the day.We had a lovely meal at the Florida.9 of us...4 adults and 5 kids ate and drank at Sugar Buffalo most of the night and the bill was 125 Lira.Loads of lovely Effes and BOGOF on vodka and cokes!Stayed at Bellevue and their Turkish night has to be the best food and best laugh ever.Highly recommend the Lemon Tree and they are staying open all winter.

Greenhouse Resturant - gorgeous steaks a little bit expensive but worth every penny

Lemon Tree - Fantastic service, the lamb is gorgeous

Holiday Inn - Set meals were fantastic the service was good but if anything a bit over the top

Mandalin - Roast Beef and Yorkshire pud to die for

Nefis Pede - fantastic cheap meal of turkish delights
