23 July hol report

Postby Diane Rigby » 12 Aug 2007 09:37

Well, I have been back a week and am just getting back in to the swing of things at home. This time last week I was sat around the pool. There was 5 of us, me, hubby, 2 sons 15 and 17 and sons girlfriend 18. We stayed in the old village at the Sevgi Apart and flew with Onur air from East Midlands, flight was delayed an hour going and half an hour coming back but was OK. Food was a bit strange, but edible.

We had an excellent 2 weeks as usual. Icmeler hasn't changed much since last year. Can't say I had an outstanding meal anywhere this year but good meals had at Love Boat, Lemon Tree, Moonlight, Capt Bullshits, Black sea to name a few, If I was pushed I would say Black sea was the best. The Liverpool chippy is a welcome addition in the old village, we had many a bag of chips for supper after a night out.

We went on the Jeep Safari, Mud baths and had a Turkish bath (all booked through ICR) all very good. Unfortunately, the ICR A/I boat trip did not run as even though many people said they would come there was not enough to make trip viable. So booked an A/I with another company £10 each. Excellent value for money but they had our hotel down as being in Marmaris and so was late picking us up, but at least we didn't have to sit on the boat waiting for everybody to get on before we set sail. A good day had by all.

Some people had arranged to meet in the Chill bar on the 29 July but guess what, only me and Madmackam and his loverly wife tuned up. Where were you all? We had a good chat and I hope that you enjoyed the rest of your 3 WEEKS !!! (lucky people).

Took travelers cheques this year as I was a bit concerned to hear of people having their safes broken into and the cash machines running out of money. Exchange rate was 250 TYL to the pound. A bit lower than last year hope it picks up for next year, only 49 weeks to go, have already booked. Well enough of my ramblings, roll on July 08. Diane. :D 8)

what a shame the big ICR meet up didn't happen - good on you all for trying though. I love old village and am torn now for where to stay next year.
Thanks

Looks like the same has happened again.

Nice report Diane.

Slats and a few others went to the office to book their ICR boat trip for today but it seems that all the people that said they wanted it never turned up to book so let the people down who did want to go as there was not enough people to book the boat.

The party is on tonight at the Havana bar so for his sake, the ICR girls who will be going and of course the people that do turn up I hope it goes well.

I will find out who has turned up later and then report here for you all

Where in the Old Village is the Liverpool Chippy, Diane?

Sounds like an ideal pitstop on the way back to the apartments at night!

Good report Diane, thanks.

Shame about the boat trip, although you did get one with the other company (better than nothing!).

Have made a mental note aobut the Liverpool Chippy... providing we can find it, I can guarantee I'll be using it a few times over the next few weeks 8)

Hi Diane, good to read your review and even better to meet you in the flesh. shame it did not happen eh but never mind there could be a hundred and one reasons why people did not turn up. We only got back yesterday and have had a great time both in icmeler and hisaronu and will post a review latter on in the week when i have recovered from all the efees.

Papa P - the Liverpool chippy is in the old village. If you go up to Tansa and turn right past the Wayside, keep walking up past Sylvia's and keep going on the right hand side of Da Ja Vu the Liverpool chippy is on your left opposite the Sahin Palace Apartments.

Glad you had a good holiday Madmackem, hopefully next year we will be able to make arrangements for another meet, hopefully a few more people might turn up next time. Look forward to your review. Di.
