HOLIDAY REPORT

Postby DODGY DAVE » 10 Aug 2007 19:19

Hi all
well here it is the report on our two weeks in paradise .
We arrived at the Efes inn at about 8 pm only to find that we were on the second floor where as with most of the other floors , the air con is a bit ropey to say the least. However after a word with Teo , managed to get a room on the new fifth floor on which all the rooms have brand new individual air con units ....bliss . Also the views are superb .Had a few efes in the bar catching up with old friends Eddie , Musty , Mehmet and Sidek and one or two new members of staff who are just a little bit crazy , namely mini Mehmet .

We had some friends staying at the Melita who incidentally booked with ICR and were chuffed with the service and prices so we visited them quite a lot and the kids liked the choices of pools so I had a bar tab running at both places .

After reading reports on this site I made a list of new places to eat and tried to get round as many new ones as poss , had excellent meals at the Lemon Tree , Kingsland ,the Wayside , First Moon ( formerly the Lion Bar ),The Dream Three Bells .
Harmony Bar ( the stella show was even better than last year ) and a real eye opener was the Champion Bar where the donner wraps are bob on and the bottles of efes are 1.75 ytl cooooool .

Also had a guinness or 2 in the Irish Bar . My eldest daughter ( 15 ) got up to sing in Denis Kapisi Bar she sang Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield and went down a storm I was well proud of her :D .

She also went on the horse safari and loved it .

We went on an all inclusive boat trip Non ICR but were told it wasnt as good as previous years , wouldnt know cos aint done it before
but enjoyed it never the less.

We went to the Aqua Dream Park in Marmaris , got on the dolmus and got dropped off at th Migros and Mcdonalds and walked up the hill ( taxi only 5 ytl wish we had took one ) . Once there had a great time , cost £48 for 4 to get in and you put money on a plastic credit type card to spend on the various food and drink outlets in the park , which is a great idea cos you dont have to carry cash around all day and every time you buy something you hand over the card and get a receipt for what you have spent and it tells you how much you got left .
You can re load the card if you spend up and you get refunded if you have anything left on the way out . bob on.
It has ten slides , a kids fun pool , a large swim pool and a wave pool .

Didnt go to the market this time as the temps were up in the mid to high fifties and its hot in there at the best of times .

Back at the hotel we had a party for my youngest daughters birthday and the hotel payed for the cake , candles and decor but what I found quite nice was that form previous years at this hotel we have got to know the waiters very well and one or two have moved on to different places so to have one of them . Erkhan turn up from Marmaris on his break just to bring my daughter a present and spend half an hour with us was fantastic and I thought a really nice touch.
This once again shows just what these people are like , true and honest friends.

Also had a good few beers and games of pool and just chilled out with Amir in the Chill Bar .

Well thats nearly it for this year just had the horrible flight home , after getting picked up from hotel at one in the morning and flying at 6.20 am its a long tiring trip home but well worth and will do it all again next year no doubt .

Will have to book something soon so I can start the countdown again.

Yours

Dodgy

Thanks Dave!

We're off to the Efes Inn next week... see what room we end up in

As long as there's a bed, a bog , and a shower, then I'm a Happy Hector!

Me & Zoe will write up a review when we get back also.

Cheers

Great holiday review it sounds like you had a fab time. Where abouts is the Champion Bar? Sounds like one to try with the children.

Thanks for the info on the waterpark that is a must, sounds like you had a great day out there.

Looking forward to your holiday snaps.
