Hi there, i am planning on proposing to my girlfriend when we go to Icmeler in September.

I have a few ideas on how and where I'd like to propose however I am open to suggestions in order to make the evening perfect, does anyone have any ideas?

Also, how much am I looking at to buy her a full 1 carat diamond ring?

Don't worry too much about how to do it, as the simple things are more romantic. On the beach as the sun is going down would be nice. I saw someone propose like that on my last holiday and it made me emotional just watching!

The price of your ring will depend on how good the diamond is obviously the better the stone the more expensive the ring I would shop around before buying one (mines cost £2500 was just over a carat if that helps)
jewellers can show you diamonds they have and you can get them to make up a ring to your own design if you like.

I would do it standing on the top of the cliff at the far end of Icmeler bay as if she said no then you could jump and if she said yes you could just get it over with and again jump

Diamonds vary greatly in price depending on clarity, cut and colour etc.

hi dave, my fiance proposed to me in turkey and bought the ring there.I don't know how well you know icmeler but he went to the love boat restraunt during the day and told the waiters there what would be happening.the year previous we had looked at rings in ruby jewellers and i liked the one caret diamond.mustafa made the ring and all the money transfers were done from here.anyway back to the love boat i thought i was just going for a meal but after we had eaten all the waiters dressed in sailor suits stood in a line in front of me then my partner got down on one knee and i don't know what he said because i was crying so much (with happiness of course) i said yes and the waiters had fireworks sparklers and cocktails to the ready it is a day i will never forget so put a lot of thought into it and i wish you both every happiness. love sandy

hi geordie dave what date in september you going the beach sounds a good idea you could also take her to the set resturant and when the roses man comes in grab him get a rose and do the bis the n you could have a big party for all the icr members there at the time i am there till the tenth

But why not so it while showing her how to work the wheel on the toilet? You'd be on your knees anyway...so practical AND uber romantic!

Why not go parasailing and do it in air?

Scuba Diving and do it under the water.

Go to the beach, tell her to enjoy her self and go strike a deal with the speed boat man and rent one and get a banner done (I can help you with that) asking her to marry you saying if yes to get on the boat. Put the banner on the tail and pull up with the boat to where she is to grab her attention...

What I personally would do (cant wait) go to the beach, go swimming together and (pretend to) pick up this rock with a carving that says will you marry me and just give it to her while coming off the water.

All of the above could turn into a disaster.
Parasailing, while asking you could be bouncing of the mountains.
Diving: you could be drowning.
Boat: You could run over a kid trying to come really close to the beach to grab her attention.
The Rock: she could throw it right back in the water not realising the carving thus the proposal on it. lol

i say ask up in the mountains with a view of the bay!! i think more romantic and private than the beach!!

also at dusk just as the sun's going down would be lovely -

maybe you could hire a bike for the day and drive up to the mountains just before dusk, have a bit of a champagne picnic, then cos you're on the bike you can drive back to your hotel (i just like the idea that she'll have to have her arms around you to hold on while you're driving-kinda like out of a movie don't you think??)

Well as a Wedding Consultant .... my advise would be to go with what your heart is telling you, you will know when the time is right but i could recommend going for a walk to watch the sunrise on the beach, in September its around 7a.m (i know coz i watch it every morning) anyway its truly magical Dave and im sure your girlfriend would find it very romantic on the beach.
Its peaceful and quiet....... Ahhh how lovely Congratulations hope it all goes well for you
