mete or demircioglu?

Postby doublemorgans » 06 Aug 2007 20:26

this is my 2nd attempt at posting so fingers x, here goes.

1st holiday in icmeler this june and loved it. stayed at captain silver. have booked flights for next june but not accomodation as yet. would like to try somewhere different but cant decide between mete or demircioglu apartments. walked past vinces many times but never went in, as we were only there for 10 nights and just too many restaurants and not enough time. would the demircioglu be noisy at night as its attached to vinces? also do both get sun all day at pool? at captain silver when the pool became shady just moved our towels to loungers in gardens. any info would be appreciated as i cannot choose between them and may have to toss a coin to decide.

Don't know anything about the mete apartments however I did stay at Demirioglu in May this year and it can get noisy but that is more to do with it being on the main road, however at midnight the music turned down its fine. We had a great time there, so much so going back there next year and have got my brother and his girlfriend to stay there in September (we would have but this holiday has been booked since last year).

Most of the pool gets sun all day, maybe about 4ish (maybe later) the side next to the pool table gets a little shade but the rest is great for that sunbathing. Also even if you are getting a little hot, and don't want to go for a dip in the pool to cool you down there is a little seated area with cover over which is great - mum used this a lot in May!

The apartments have all that you need for a self catering holiday, they are cleaned every day and the staff are great both at the apartments and the restaurant.

Need anymore info just ask. In the photo gallery my pics from May are there and if I remember rightly there are a couple of the apartments (if not I'll get some and stick them on for you).

Hiya

For me it would have to be the Demircioglu. This is where we first stayed 8 years ago and have been going back every year since. Off again in 8 days!!

They can't do enough for you and it's lovely and clean.

Having said that, it obviously depends on what you personally want from a holiday but if you want something not too big, this is your place.

As for the noise, no it's fine. The music in all the bars has to be turned down after midnight anyway.

Hope this helps!

:D

Hi
I would book the Demircioglu. Vince and his staff are great, we have stayed in the apartments and found them exceptionally clean. They have the best balconies in Icmeler..... Dead nosey, and you get the sun from morning till night. Great entertainment at night and really good food. What more could you ask for?

Me :)

Use the bar outside these apartments each night and have heard that they are excellent - I know that they get repeat bookings each year and apparently they have plenty of room - but not been inside myself.

I stayed at The Mete couple of years ago, love them, only 9 apartments, with pool side bar and decent size pool with plenty of sun beds. Very central as well for all the eateries and shops :D

we had a look at your pix andrea m, thank u. reminded me that will need to get boyfriend to get our fotos organised, theyre still on memory card and im useless with technology or would attempt it myself.
very jealous of u diane c, as u get to go twice, as do a lot of lucky forum users. wish we could too but boyfriend getting made redundant next year so a holiday next year wasnt high on our priorities but had such a good time this year decided to take chance and just book it anyway. my boyfriend loved the veggie chinese food in captain bullshits and that 1 reason for considering the mete cos it nearer, but think its gony be the dermicioglu for us. hope its still available after all my dithering. thanks again for all who replied.
