With the ever decreasing allowance on how much you can take in your suitcases do all of you Icmeler'ites have any good tips on who to reduce the weight.
We only buy the smallest 100ml bottles of shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste and shaving foam - it saves a lot of weight. Then we have a trip to Migros or the Tanaz on day one of our hollies. Any left over we leave for the owners of the apartments.
Any other tips?

all i can say is have a good think about the reality of how often you'll wear something. i bought loads of new stuff for my last holiday, ended up wearing the same few things over the daytimes rather than the excessive amount that i'd bought.
but then i did have a different outfit every night so won't be doing that again either.
i think that if you will only wear it once there's no point taking it - it needs to be wearable at least twice (over a 2 week holiday anyway)
i was lucky though, they didn't weigh my hand luggage!!
i'm going back for 2 weeks, and i'm going to try to save on the weight this time. not taking quite so much stuff for night times. and i'm gonna buy some things over there.

Yes I agree with you Emma, I always try to take things for evening that I can wear more than once, especially trousers/skirts I just take different tops to wear with them. We were charged £21 in June for excess weight and we had left all our beachwear and toiletries at the
hotel for when we go back in August. So when we do go back my suitcase will be practically empty, just the few things I'm taking for evenings.
Another way to avoid the excess weight charges is to wear layers of clothes to travel.....look out for all the Michelin men at Dalaman!!

Mix and match dotty thats what I do.
you can wear a blouse or top several times with either slacks or skirt but a frock you cant wear as many times because the rest of the girls think your a cheapskate.
Another one is wear something different in your hair every night, like a bow, comb or flower by doing this it takes peoples eyes off what your wearing.
Best of all just keep smiling because by smiling you girls can get away with anything.

clare,
If you think for one minute that I would describe my "Coming Out Outfit"
on here you are very naive.
Clare you have has much chance of clashing with me on dress sense as Judas Iscariot is of winning the "Discilple Of The Year"
Clare you cant hide class, and this guy knows how to dress.
So Girls, no coming in tatty frocks expecting to blend into the background
Za Za has offered a free fish bowl to the best dressed person and I must add with class at the first party night.
I just wonger if I can drink it all myselfe

David,
I will be glued to the webcam to catch a glimpse of that dashing figure in
your styleish sailor suit (do you still wear it?)
Or will we all be looking for your new sophisticated suave look?
I notice the subtle way you are trying to extract my outfit out of me,
Polka Dots indeed?
Vertical stripes makes a person look a lot slimmer(only trouble with the stripes is you look 8 feet tall)

How can I think of advice - I've got images of a sailor suit, hair bobbles and Erik's thong!!! Think I need to book a flight to see these for myself!!!
OK advice, I usually take all my creams, toiletries in hand luggage but that's out now so something's got to go from your suitcase!
remember it's hot hot hot - you'll be wearing very little during the day - and you can wash things out - put straight on hanger to avoid as many creases as possible. halve the amount of shoes - in fact don't take shoes, just day flip flops and couple evening shoes for women (and Gene) and 1 for men.
I'd agree with the leave it if it's just one wear advice. Don't take everything just because it's new or your favourite: be practical will you wear it in the blazing heat? And colour co-ordinate to limit what you take. Remember you can always put a bow in your hair like Gene. Most hotels you don't need hair dryers - a few rollers are lighter and quicker than tongs, straighteners etc. I know - not as glamorous!
I've got packing off to a tee - but I have noticed that rolling everything up and putting things inside shoes etc gives me more room - so I pack things folded to stop me taking more.
Restrict the handbags - 1 that goes with both pairs of shoes is enough.
In hand luggage - roll up your towel and a few heavier clothes - wear jeans to travel in (if you take them) and as someone else said a few layers - so a couple of T-shirts if you're really running out of room. Take as little as possible if you intend to buy stuff there - wear it when you've bought it or go with no clothes if you intend to buy buy buy!
Use bikini tops as bras. take fewer bottoms than tops - they're smaller, And men, shorts and short trousers are much cooler than jeans. Linen fabrics are lighter too.

I'm booking juneflo to come and do all my packing for me!!!
I always take far too many clothes, so I can mix and match, and as for the shoes, well, I take at least 5 pairs, plus trainers, which (I travel in) for the statutory walk to Marmaris!
Like redrhino, I couldnt possibly be seen out in the same outfit twice

Thanks for the compliment. I must say though that my good advice doesn't go down well with my daughter - think she'd give Gene a run for his money. I've had to reduce my luggage so together we're not over at the check-in. But she gets fed up with me saying "I said you wouldn't wear everything"
But wait, there's a challenge now. See the post about Tracy - she needs some juice taking over. So, I've asked what can we lose to make a pregnant woman smile??? Go on have a go at that now.
