Roger the tortoise is missing - can anyone help???????

Postby archieb » 15 Jul 2007 09:32

Hi all,

Roger, the small tortoise who normally sits in the plant pot as you go in Venice on the left has gone missing. He might have been stolen or was put in the bigger pen with the others and got out.

There has been no ransom notes or anything like that yet so hopefully he will turn up somewhere safe and well.

Can you all keep an eye out for him???

I am sure Apo and the guys would be glad to get him back. I suggested they write the names on their backs with all the guys in Venice like Mehmet, Tiger, Apo, Crazy Guy etc so they could not go missing in the future.

:D :D :D

Regards,

This is a bone of contention of mine and I always row with them over not taking proper care of them.

Last year there was a baby one

A child picked it up to "play" with it and then left it on the floor, a delivery truck backed down and ran over it.

These things are there purely to attract people to The Venice and should be in proper netted enclosures.

TORTOISES

Postby fatblokecaver » 15 Jul 2007 17:31

Last time we were in Icmeler (2 years ago) there were a lot of people selling tortoises to take home.
Hopefully the people on this site realise that it is illegal to take them into the UK and if caught you will be fined loads of money.
I know they are cute and there is a lot of money to be made by selling them on, but most of them will not make the trip home or will die as soon as they arrive. Yes they are small enough to slip into your pocket but man will you smell once it has poo'ed or died in there.
They look better in their natural enviroment, that does not include the local bars!!!!!
