Oh i hope not, totally cruel if you ask me.
There's an ongoing battle at the moment with people trying to save a wee monkey thats kept in a cage with no food or water in a
hotel in Altinkum, the staff take it out sometimes and throw it in the pool etc seemingly it just cries and screeches al day long, when someone spoke to the manager he was quite cross with them.

I think all decent minded people should boycott that
hotel in Altinkum, kidnap the monkey, take it to a sanctuary and return and throw the hotel staff into the pool!
I agree with Collette, I would do the same thing if I saw a monkey tied up in
Icmeler

As far as i know they are boycotting it and are trying to get in touch with some sanctuary to come and take the monkey.

It used to be a common practice in a lot of countries to have bears, monkeys, parrots and all sorts of animals for the tourist to be photographed with.
In recent years all this has been outlawed and you will be hard pushed to see animals on the street
But it still happens so it is up to the tourist to report any ill treatment of any animals they see in any resort.

When we were in Hisaronu in June there was a shop with a monkey tied up in it. I refused to even look in their window. It escaped one night and ended up sitting beside me outside a bar I felt really upset for it.
I strongly against wild animals being kept as pets.

Not having been to
Icmeler before I can't comment on whether this has happened in the resort in the past. I saw it once in another country - a man walking along with a monkey on a chain and every so often he pulled the chain and the monkey had to clutch on to the chain to prevent from being choked. It was horrible and my distress was probably nothing compared to the poor monkey. I was prevented from intervening but I vowed never to go back. I hope I don't see anything like that in Icmeler -if I do I would want to report it - but who to? Can anyone advise on this?

I've just read a post about there being a monkey in a cage in one of the restaurants in the Old Village. What can we do about this?
