Boat Trip 2005

Postby fatblokecaver » 02 Jul 2007 18:49

Last time we went to Icmeler (12th time there) it was 2005. We booked a boat trip from someone along the canal a tiny shop cant remember who. The trip was excellent we departed from the Gokova side of the penninsular where the pink bus goes. We visited a brilliant snorkelling 'island' then went on to Rabbit island and on to a deserted villa on an island then a very old church. The trip was great but............. here comes the crunch, the boat was packed there was no room at the front or upstairs, at a guess I would say that there were at least 80 - 100+ people on the boat. We were told that there would only be 30. There were times when we did not feel safe and finding any 1 of the 3 coaches back to Icmeler was a joke. Don't get me wrong the trip was fantastic but when there is no space for everyone to sit down to eat it becomes a problem. I have noticed that ICR only take 30 people on a boat trip so we may pop in for a visit/booking. (We arrive in 35 sleeps :D )
I am just flagging this up because there are some lousy reps that will promise you the world to get bums on seats, decks and anywhere they can fit in. It felt like a train in Bombay!!!

The last one the Dimrie went on with us had I think 20 people on and plenty of room on the 38 sunbeds up top
