My Overlate Review

Postby Papa_P » 29 Jun 2007 08:46

Well we visited Icmeler for the 3rd time and stayed at the Club Daystar in May 2007 for a week. So here is the review:

The Apartments themselves are quite basic but very clean and they do have hairdryers in the bathrooms! The apartment we were in was on the ground floor and was large enough for two of us for a week. All the usual ammenities are available in the rooms (small kitchen with utensils. etc, two sofas, table with 3 chairs...). All apartments overlook the pool which is large enough with one side getting the sun all day and the other slowly going into the shade as it gets later in the afternoon. There are ample sunbeds for everyone. The pool area is always clean, and the rooms were cleaned daily.

Teddy, Ozzie and the guys in the restaurant always made us feel welcome, and never caused us any hassle trying to make us stay there to eat unlike reports I had read before. We stayed for a meal on one night because it was raining and I have to say that it was lovely! Just as good as I have had elsewhere! We also had all our snacks, etc at the Daystar and I must reccomend the Pancakes! An absolutely delicious snack accompanied with an Apple Tea!

We visited quite a few of the restaurants within the town...Titanic, Love Boat, Chef, Ozzys and as always the food was exquisite. We had possibly our nicest meal in Ozzys although Chef were up to their usual high standard of meals and Loveboat was a first for us on our 4th anniversary on 31st May.

We had a few nights in Friends and Wonderboys but tend just to walk around the shops at night!

I've got to say that my week at the Daystar was my best turkish holiday yet after staying at the Sahin Palace and the Babadan Hotel(before its refurbishment).

I could only reccomend Club Daystar and would definitley go back!

Pics are up and can be found here: http://www.icmeleronline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2841

Thank you Papa_P for taking time out and writing a review of your holiday.
Its like food and drink for people waiting for their holidays in Icmeler to read about other peoples storries.
Will you get another visit in this year or have you got a long wait till next years hols?

Great pics Papa_P. I notice you have taken a few of Friends in the centre? Just wondering is Erik still there-he was a manager (I think) last year? We had many a good night in there-

Gene, we are hoping to get away in September...we even went in to see Taz while we were there to find out about booking up! But since coming back the wife is voicing a desire to go to Cuba!  :( So its anyones guess if we'll get back this year!

Loopylou, I'm not sure! To be honest we only really stopped in a couple of times for a drink on our way round the town at night! We never really got to know anyone in Friends!

Hi Papa P

Just read this post and it answers a question I posted somewhere else about the pools and sunshine. Sounds like you had a great week, hopefully you'll be back in September but Cuba sounds a good second choice and there's always next year!

Great pics, really clear and some reminders of why we love the place.
