Why

Postby redrhino12 » 14 Jun 2007 13:13

Why do we keep going back to Icmeler?

Is it the feeling pf belonging?
Loving a culture different to ours?
The Magnificent scenery?
A love of the food be it Turkish or International?
The nightlife, the Karaoke, dance bars, the theme shows or a quite drink?
The trips out on the boats, jeep safari, horse riding or the watersports?
The sun,sea and sands?

I have my reasons, and can list all the above as being a part of my repeat visits but the main reason I think is.

"I AM HOME"

Gene

For me is is the fact that we have been so many times so we know many many people and friends there. So for us it is like going to see our family and to see what bars and hotels they are working in each year

Why

Postby swc24 » 15 Jun 2007 15:45

The anticipation of the journey
The spleneder of the flight
The excitment of arriving in Icmeler at night

The town is now awaking
The mosquito man has gone
The cockerel in the village is welcoming the sun

Waking up next morning
without hardly any sleep
Strolling out along the streets
Seeing the people meet and greet

To come back year on year
The reasons are so clear
Were at home in Icmeler
Were not strangers here

Well doneSWC24

Well put Gene.
I love sitting in the Bamboo watching all the different nationalties dancing and enjoying themselves. Because it's right on the front there is always a nice breeze. We always stop off for a couple there.
Not to everyones taste but nice for a stop off and then on to Linakers.
Romance is always in the air in that special place, Icmeler.

It has to be that feeling of belonging being home, its as if any worries or stresses you had leave you as soon as you seen Icmeler in the distance and you instantly relax and look forward to all Icmeler has to offer!

Have you all seen the advert for cup-a-soup on the tele where the big blue monster puts his arms round you. Well thats like Icmeler. Once you get there you feel like Icmeler puts its arms around you and welcomes you in. Makes you feel all warm inside (or is that one to many efes  )

I just like the place, the right mix, not too busy not too quiet, loads of places to eat, the rest much the same as everyone else

For me there is no other place like it.

I have never felt like this about any other holiday I have been on. My girls also love the freedom they have there and the friends they have made over the years.

I think it's just the whole atmosphere of the place.Icmeler certainly brings out the best in people, whether it's the friendliness and warmth of our hosts rubbing off on us I don't know, but having been to many places abroad over the years there's always people whose actions can make you ashamed to be british with their loutish behaviour and lack of respect for their surroundings, but I have never witnessed any such behaviour from holiday makers all the times I've been in Icmeler. It's just a magical wee place.

Agree with all of you! The shopping, the Efes, the lovely food, the people, the atmosphere! The perfect recipe!
The best feeling in the world is coming down the hill on the bus from the airport towards Icmeler & Marmaris and seeing all those beautiful lights! Just like coming home........ :D
