Trip to Turunc

We went to Turunc twice while on holiday in Icmeler, both times on a Monday which is Market day in Turunc.
The first time was by taxi boat the cost was 15YTL return, the sea was a little choppy but was enjoyable.
The second time we went by taxi to Turunc, this cost us 5YTL each and we got the taxi near the bus stop opposite the Icmeler market.
We returned by Dolmus costing 4YTL each (but could have travelled all the way to Marmaris for this price) we got dropped off again near Icmeler
market.
The Dolmus runs every hour and half hour.
The journey by road up over the mountain and the scenery is beautifull as you look over Icmeler bay and Turunc bay.
I have heard some say the drive was scary but we didnt find it so.
Turunc market was more sedate than Icmeler and was "not in your face"
It wasnt busy and you had more time to brouse.(we didnt buy anything because I had only taken my Efes money out with me)
We went on the beach in the morning and used the free sunbeds and brollies, trying to scramle over the large pebbles to get into the sea we then had a swim.
Lunchtime arrived and we went to see some friends from our home town, who had taken over this little bar in Turunc called "Nirvana" J & Ks Music Bar.
We had an extended lunch, drank some of the best draught Efes I have ever had in Turkey, and the wives ate apple pie and cream.
Fully contented we returned back Home to Icmeler.
Turunc is a "must do" be it by boat or Dolmus, it has a different feel to it than Icmeler, quieter and less hurried.
