Whats the first thing you put in your suitcase??

Postby laura180306 » 26 Mar 2007 10:50

Whats the first thing that everyone puts in their suitcase?
I usually pack the essentials like bikini, sun tan lotion and sunglasses!
All the essentials, ha ha! I usually start packing about 1 month before I go too!

The first thing the wife puts in our case is a beach towel layed flat on the bottom of the case, things are then packed on top of this, then another beach towel is layed over everything to keep all the items secure.
We have three cases = 6 beach towels = two towels to each sunbed =
no burning of parts of the body on the red hot plastic covering of our sunbeds that is not covered if we had only got one towel per bed.

I also pack the beach towels first, I just think it gives my other clothes an even base to lie on! Stupid I know but I can't pack any other way :?

nothing !i am not trusted to even help with the packing.my job is done when the cases come out of the loft.then the battle of the comfortable shorts begins.last year i wore them under my teflon coated traveling outfit and revealed them on the bus .one happy comfortable man. five horrified women.every so often you win one :D

I'm a sad person. When we come home from Icmeler, I wash all the clothes. Dressy clothes are then put in the wardrope. Shorts, swimwear and beachtowels, along with the sandals are then packed back in the suitcase. My suitcases are almost packed ready for our holiday the next year, just need to add dress clothes, suncream and toiletries. I will add that we have seperate summer clothes to wear at home. Next week is our schools Easter holidays for 2 weeks and I will have time to get the suitcases out. I start to write lists of everything we will need and then write everything we have and then a list of everything to buy! By the time we go (30th June) all new stuff will be bought and packed ready to go. Hubby just groans when he sees the suitcases and lists and tells the kids (here she goes again!) Well it's good to be organised as my therapist told me (if I had one). Can't wait to go back to Icmeler, feeling the sun warm my bones and relaxing for 2 weeks. Aaaahhhh the life! 8)

I've beaten you to it. I've made my list and I've had the week off work and I've been to town shopping three times. So I've got all our new clothes and can't wait to pack them now :D

My bikinis go in the case first (all four of them) :)

Towel/s first, followed by heavy stuff like shoes, lotions and potions, then undies, swimmers, shorts then T-shirts, evening tops and for some reason or other skirts right on top.... all covered over with a sarong to keep things as together as possible. And I have to say it seems to travel well that way.

Funny how you always kind of stick to the same pattern isn't it!
