My wife and I first went to
Icmeler in 1995 together with our daugher who was 14 at the time. We didnt have a clue where anything was so we just walked around the place for hours. Our first memories are of walking around Icmeler looking for the Sahin Restaurant, we walked and walked for what seemed like miles, and suddenly came across this place in the square (close to where the cash machines are now), i think it is now either Bon Jour or Lighthouse, and it was only around the corner from the
hotel we were staying in at the time. We laugh about it now, cos we know Icmeler as well as we know our home twn.
We met many people during that visit and they are still our friends to day, especially Yurda (Kevin) from Champange Restaurant.
There was 'Bobby Ball' look alike, who was resident dancer in Sevgis bar, Ali who run the corner shop which was next to to Sevgis and the 'towel' woman near the canal, I can never remember her name.
Icmeler was a lot smaller then, but still as friendly as it is now, and the Efes tasted wonderful. We enjoyed ourselves so much we have been returning every year since, and now our 6 year old grand daughter also loves visiting Icmeler and is the star turn in Champange Restaurant most evenings when we are there.
