Making a Will

Hi Everybody,
We're in the process of buying a villa in Icmeler and have been told unless we make a new Will in Turkey to the contrary, if one of us dies, the villa automatically goes to one of our children and if we have no children it goes to the Turkish Government - not the surviving partner!!??
Does anybody know if this is true....
Your collective thoughts on this would be most appreciated,

PS anyone know a solisitor in Icmeler who could make a will ?

Regards Fendlyra

Hi,
Somehow I keep missing posts.
I've made a will over in Guernsey, and stated who inherits any property I might have on my death ( hopefully not for ages!).
I believe if you take your will to Turkey, get it translated and notarised, then all is well. Their inheritance laws are similar, whereas if you had children then the property would pass down to them, or to close relations, if none of these then the state takes it.
Fancy adopting me? Always fancied a place in Icmeler!!
As my dear late Mum used to say, there's no harm in asking......
Hope this helps
Penny
