Last day

Postby mansy » 20 Sep 2019 08:32

We are at the end of our holiday. After a 3 year break didn't know what to expect. A few things have changed, but none of them have dampened our holiday. So it's back to the old routine, see you next year Icmeler. Once it's in your blood you can't shake it off.

Wow! That’s went quick Mansy

Glad you had a good time and hope you found it was getting back to the way it was like we did?

I trust the weather has been good, apart from a rumble of thunder the odd night maybe

Bit of bad news though, I had my contract terminated at work on Monday ... so on the hunt for a job before we can afford to book up next year

Cheers Pat, much appreciated ... I could always start walking there now and I might make it by the start of the season 2020 and just work there!

3rd time of trying to reply Geordie. Don't know where my first 2 replies went ?
Hope you get sorted with employment soon.

Our holiday passed by all to quickly. Had a fabulous time, fell in love with Icmeler all over again.
Hope to get back there next September.

You could buy one of the empty hotels...then we could all come stay !!

Ha ha  thanks Mansy, great idea!!! ... let’s do it? :D

Glad you fell in love again and got the feeling it was getting back to it’s best!

I’m still job hunting ... worried sick though and still awaiting my appeal reply, but that will be a waste of time I fear

I’ve been finding for months that when I post a reply, I’ve got to copy it before clicking ‘submit’ as it then just takes me back to the log in page and I lose my post?

Anyone else had the same issue?

Hi all, panic over! ... Geordie got a job (well offered 2 in fact) :D

It was never in doubt and is my previous employers loss, same job different company and a wage increase!

Just wish I had sum spare cash and we’d be off to Icmeler, as I’m not starting until the 16/0 after my ‘garden’ leave

Cheers Mansy, I start a week today :D

Has anyone looked at the prices for Icmeler next year?

I have and via Jet2 a 2 weeks hol in July is over £1800 for the 2 of us at the usual places we’ve stayed at before! ... not going to book yet, but the prices will put many off which is a worry ....

Even had a look at just flights, so we would then look at the DIY option, but from Toon international via Jet2 (the cheapest) even they will cost £872! Wow!!!!

Had a look at early September 2020, after the schools are back, and, from Glasgow, it is just shy of £1,000 with Jet2, and just over with TUI, for me and the wife. 3 of us went this year and the flights were cheaper. If they are still as high in the new year, then we may have to look elsewhere i'm afraid. Hopefully they will come down, as a lot of people will be put off of those prices. Hopefully some other airlines can fill the gap left by TC, or J2 & TUI may increase the number of flights to Dalaman. We shall see.

Thanks for the replies

Yep, like you say it will put people off and hopefully prices will come back down .... I checked for flights only for July and the cheapest from Newcastle was £872 with Jet2 for me and Mrs G  .. scary!!

Seems to be an overall shortage of holidays, as I even looked into going back to Egypt in July instead but no holidays found on a couple of websites .... so could be a Caravan holiday in Scotland at this rate!!

Good luck for Monday geordie. Hope all goes well.

I've been watching the prices for next year (from Leeds Bradford though) and they came down with a bump on Wednesday when Turkey started the games with Syria. Also, more flights have been put on.

Don't give up hope - keep looking and clearing your cookies.

Cheers Pat, I’m sure I’ll be fine on Monday ... just be tired after an unexpected month off!

Regarding the holidays I’ll keep checking every other day ... from what I’ve seen with even Cyprus, Greece and other Mediterranean destinations everywhere is expensive?
