Can anybody advise if it is possible to get visa after you have landed at Dalaman.
If you can, do you pay in us dollars or pounds.

From the e-visa site

I do not want to apply for an e-Visa. Can I get a visa on arrival?
Yes. If you are a citizen of one of the countries listed below and you meet the required criteria, you can obtain a visa on arrival. Kindly visit the Ministry's website (http://www.mfa.gov.tr) to learn more about these requirements.

UK is on the list.

From the Dalaman airport site

Electronic Visa Application System of the Republic of Turkey
It is possible to obtain visa print-out after having electronically obtained the visa by bank card or credit card by registering the information online requested from the citizens of countries that are eligible for obtaining stamp and visa at border gates of our country. The application of stamp and visa delivery at border gates for those who don’t obtain it electronically will continue to be performed as in the past.

You can still get a visa on arrival, but it will cost you more (£20 instead of $20, which equates to roughly £16) and you need to bear in mind that the visa desk isn't always manned 24/7, so you could face a wait and that could cause problems if you have a transfer waiting. Easier to do it online beforehand - only use the official website - www.evisa.gov.tr - and remember to print off a copy.
