Well done Mansy. It takes courage to take on the "big boys" and so pleased it paid off for you. It's useful to follow Martin Lewis's guidance and better still no cost incurred in pursuing this action. Useful information for others to follow, if needed.

One othe tip if fighting the big boys at Thomas Cook......
They offered a voucher for the £680:00...which you do not have to accept, you can ask to be paid in cash. Even though they don't mention this in the offer.
