I have just had a phone call from Eddie and Gwens daughter in law to tell me that sadly Eddie Williams passed away this morning

He had been suffering with cancer but with all the stress of it they think it was a heart attack that finally got him

A true gent a loving husband to Gwen and will be sadly missed by all of his Icmeler friends and family

No more bumping into one another in the Bridewell Eddie.

Bye Eddie you were a star

Sad news indeed, JT - condolences to the family.

I am sorry to hear that,we had a good night when my wife and me were sat with them in the Bridewell.

My wife and me went to Liverpool yesterday for a few drinks,so we had a stroll down to the Bridewell pub only when we got there it was not open,as it shut down.

Yeah, we closed a month ago, mate. We got to the end of the lease, and decided not to sign another lease. Rising costs and the total saturation of food and drink places in Liverpool nowadays just made it difficult for us to continue, and certainly not worth the stress any more. It was good while it lasted. Sad, but one of those things, I guess. Cheers

Thanks for the reply,when we got there we were spitting feathers it was that hot,so we sat down on the bench outside,we were asking different people if you was opening but no one knew anything,i dont blame you for shutting down if you are not making a decent living,were i live in Haydock there was 16 pubs and clubs,now there is only 6 left and some of them are struggling.
