Non UK Passport Hotel Supplement

Hi,

I was looking to book a holiday next year and one of our Turkish friends was going to stay with us. I have noticed when looking at various hotels that they state that there will be a supplement for non UK passport holders. Does anybody know anything about this as I am presuming it would affect my friend. Any advice would help as we don't want to turn up at a hotel and she would be refused entry (which seems bizarre anyway!). If there is a supplement does anybody know what it is so I could let her know. She says she doesn't know anything about it. :)

Ok I will do my best to explain why there are supplements but firstly do not think of the person paying a premium

All contracts done in Icmeler and Marmaris for the UK markets are at GREATLY reduced prices as the owners were kind of brainwashed by the contract managers of the very large travel agencies in around the year 2009 to think that if they dropped their prices by a vast amount, it would attract more people from the UK.

They then had this thing in their heads, well if I bring more because rooms are cheaper then I will sell more at the bar and make more money that way.

Everyone then started competing with each other and prices dropped again.

This was just for the UK market and in the resorts.

If you look to the cities then its the same as anywhere in the world, prices are "proper" and all nationalities pay the same.

Back in the time before the owners listened to the larger operators who wanted to flood the resorts with lots more people, prices were up at a "proper" level and everyone from every country paid the same.

Egyptian resorts are actually set up the same as the Turkish ones

Many thanks JT. I am still a bit confused though although I do now understand what you are saying about prices etc. To clarify if I am the lead passengar and I add my Turkish friend and her husband as guests what supplement would I have to pay for them each if any. On the booking it only asks for a lead name and number of guests so do I inform the hotel that they are Turkish or does it not matter. As I am making the booking and I am from the UK would this be okay?

Amelia you need to check the chosen accommodation will accept Turks.

My friend has a turkish boyfriend & as we like to stay in the same accommodation as them it does restricted our choices somewhat as some refuse to even permit Turks to stay.

I usually email the property before we book and ask:
1 - do they permit Turks to stay
2 - is there an increased charge (usually the answer is yes)

It won't make any difference you being the lead name unfortunately & they will know if a party member is turkish as they will want to see your passports.

We have a different contract from hotel owners that allow Turkish guests to stay and they can be found here http://www.icmeleronline.com/tr

If you are from the UK and want to stay at the same complex that you see on our Turkish site, then you can book at UK prices from here http://www.icmeleronline.com/en

We have two places that we allow Turkish to book at same cost as UK guests as we have already paid for the rooms and they are Greenmar aparts and Sun Village aparts and both can be found on our UK site

If it is for 2016 then please send me an email via the website along with all dates and details and I will get back to you with prices
