Hi we have always mistakenly changed our money in the UK before. But now we realise it is better to wait until we arrive in resort.. My question is what is the best way .. travellers cheques, a pre paid travel card, or just a cash point. Which in general do people do ?? Any advice would be welcome .? Thankyou

I would normally just take cash, English £10 or £20 notes. As a back up take a couple of cards to get money from ATM, there are plenty of ATM in resort. Best to take one of the cards that does not charge extras or charges very little. I have a Halifax clarity credit card. I simply take cash out of ATM, normally getting a slightly higher rate and pay it off in full when back in UK. Normally pay about £1 in charges, well worthit

Hi shelly,
I tend to take £100 in Lira and bulk of monies in Sterling Travellers cheques (my bank don't charge and there insured against loss or theft), some Sterling and Nationwide Flexi card. There is a £1 Transaction charge per Withdrawal, up to £500, but there is NO foreign transaction charge as I withdraw Sterling to change at the Supermarkets/Bars.
