Icmeler Online Holiday Forum & Reviews - Turkey

I am going to Icmeler in 2 weeks and are thinking about hiring a car and driving from the airport. Never driven in Turkey before and as it is a late flight I would be driving in the dark. Also, are satnavs reliable there, I was thinking of downloading a turkey map and using it in the hire car. What do you think ? Am I going to get to Icmeler or will I spend the night touring the Turkish countryside ?? Thanks.

It is relatively straight forward i believe and is in the main prety well signposted. The road is mainly fairly new as well so overall in great condition. Personally I dont fancy driving in Turkey they seem a little manic to say the least. take the easy relaxing choice of a private transfer. Even if you did fancy exploring once your there, Turkey has a fabulous bus system that you can travel on

very BAD idea forget it and get a private transfer and then you can relax, enjoy your holiday.

I would normally say yes go for it but not this time

Don't drive that road in the dark as there are some areas where you have to filter into the other lane due to road works and you don't see the warning till last minute

Take a transfer then hire a car in the resort and go explore

Thanks for the replies. I am now thinking maybe getting a transfer there, hiring a car in the last week and possibly driving back to the airport ( in the daylight !! ).
