Walk to the Flag

Can someone please tell me exactly where the path to the flag is? I have seen a number of paths but where do you start from up on the Turunc road?

From Tommy's bar, cross the canal and bear right onto the road up the hill, then left onto the side road. Follow that until you see the masts of the little power station or whatever it is. BEFORE you get to it, about 50 metres before a pile of big pipes, there is a small track leading almost back on itself on the left. It's very easy to miss on the way up as it's a bit overgrown. From there you basically just follow the track. The last few 100 metres are very steep, with a lot of loose stones, so be careful. Remember to wear jeans and trainers otherwise your legs will be torn to bits on the prickly bushes. I did it a couple of weeks ago and it took just over an hour to get to the top. Well worth it for the view!

Thanks Canli. Went up on my bike for a look & found it no bother. Just for a peek did go up the path until almost clear of the trees but the bushes were becoming more dense & I only had shorts on but looking up from that point it seems more like a bit of a scrabble to get to the top. The hour it took you, was that from the start of the track or from your house?

That was from Tommy's bar, Roy. A group of us went up to raise money for the Dog's Home. It was quite hard going near the top, but we nearly all made it. I think coming down was harder as we kept slipping on the loose stones, and there's nothing to hold on to. Worth it though. We did it early morning before it got too hot.
