Icmeler Online Holiday Forum & Reviews - Turkey

Hi All,

Been a while since i've been on the forum as we haven't been to Icmeler for 2 years now.

As with everything I'm sure this will have been asked before but I couldn't find what I was looking for in the search.

We we're pregnant last time we came to Icmeler and this time around we'll be travelling with our 22 month old. Other than the obvious days in the pool and on the beach can anybody suggest any suitable activities within the resort or even trips which we can keep him entertained with the odd day to break the monotony for him?

I'm sure there's plenty but wasn't on our radar the few times we've been before so i'm sat here scratching my head

My two were teenagers when we first came to Icmeler, so not sure how much help I can be, but there are certainly little play areas for children dotted all around the resort. As for trips, not sure if there are many I would say would be especially suitable for a wee one of that age, as some do involved quite a bit of travelling on a bus or minibus. How about one of the boat trips?

We were there last summer with my 3 year old, princes bar just down from the taj mahal has great bouncy castles, and icmeler restaurant up towards the old village has a mini crazy golf, there is also a bar on the canal with bouncy castles and we found the little parks dotted around the resort great, I am sure there is a big park just off the main entrance round in to town as well.

We also spent the day at the water park in marmaris , the one on top of the hill, its good with a very large separate pool area with a huge climbing frame with fountains etc that squirt water over everyone, we found this a really good day for him, will be back in July and will be defo visiting there again.

the bars which pip has mentioned are great for kids and we spend a lot of time in both of them last year.but I think wherever you are in icmeler the kids always seem to be fussed over and entertained.
great resort for families and our youngest will be the same age as your child when we go this summer.keeping the kids happy never seems to be a problem.

[*]I'm sure the Icmeler restaurant closed down just before the end of last season,which is a shame as we spent a lot of time there as perfect for kids.

Maya restaurant was another place we visited as had small play area which the kids loved. I didn't do any trips last year(kids were 3 and 1) and I've been going to Turkey on and off since 1993 so have done my share of trips.

Our days were spent at the pool,which both kids loved there was also an area with astroturf and football goals at our Aparts which my son loved and he spent hours on the pool table too, as mentioned lots of play areas dotted around for the kids.

There is a big area up by Arya/Nazar which has trampolines,bouncy castles and a load of others things that kept the kids occupied on a night.

We also hired a beach pavilion at the Marti resort which was great, it was a private air conditioned gazebo right down by the waters edge with your own sunbeds and butler service all day, you got fruit platters in morning and afternoon, all drinks, ice creams etc and lunch with your own butler included in the price(cant remember how much we paid but can find out) it was good for the kids though, they pottered around all day between the beach and gazebo and were quite happy.

Can't remember the names of any other places we went apart from the ones mentioned above and went to Price one night,kids liked it, I didn't!

Go to the Waterfall Restaurant - not necessarily to eat as it can be quite expensive!!! But at the entrance there is an enclosed small animal "thingy" which has ducks, hens, rabbits, guinea pigs, etc. that are awesome to watch running around. Loads of kids around it when we were there last year. Hope you enjoy your hols - there is no reason why you shouldn't really - Icmeler is a fab resort with plenty to do and isn't too big.

Thanks for the response Jula, that beach pavilion sounds excellent to be honest, if you could give me an idea of where that's located and a rough cost i'll bare it in mind for when we go, especially now we may be taking grandma along
