Travelfx question again....sorry!

Postby Chris221273 » 23 Jan 2014 11:17

Ok, sorry guys but another travelfx question.
How do you go about ordering, with regards to bank transfers and ordering the lira.
Am taking the afternoon off work tomorrow to sort it but heads up would be much appreciated.

Hi

You just fill out the order form online then you will get details of their bank details and reference number.

Go onto your online banking and send payment, make sure you quote their reference number. When they receive the money they will email you to confirm receipt and then email you to say when it has been sent.

They send special delivery so you should receive the next day of receiving the email.

When you have their details, if you don't want to do it online you can just go to the bank to make the transfer. We were unsure about using travelfx at first but we`ve now used them many times. We always have the money delivered as soon as possible as it is a bank transfer and you don't have the protection that you would have had when using a card. For this reason we only order lira between a Monday morning and Wednesday evening so that there is never a weekend between ordering and delivery. If the rate continues to go up in the next few weeks due to the elections we`ll change more in March and keep the lira we've already changed, if we can.

Thanks for the info.
Going to get some today, and if it goes up significantly over the upcoming weeks we will probably sell it back if we can get a higher buy back rate than when we bought it and then buy at the higher rate.

No Mr T.
According to their site they don't take ANY card payments of any time.
It has to be done via either your online banking from your account, or in the branch, they won't accept and nor does it give an option for entering a card number.

Cheers Chris,

I always thought that payment by Dedit Card was taken out of your bank immediately, ir no delay at all!

Payments from a debit card normally show on your account instantly, but the time in which they actually physically leave your account can be anything up to a week and sometimes longer.
Tesco are bad at this, and often our payment won't leave the bank for a week if not sometimes more.
Thats why i guess travelfx use only bank transfers, as it's guaranteed to leave either straight away or up to a couple of hours.
I sold our old car on New Years Eve and the guy did a bank transfer here, and it was physically in our bank 1 hour later.....on New Years Eve!!

Don't know if it's a typo but Travelex is a different company to Travelfx. It's rare for Travelex to have a higher rate than Travelfx so make sure you don't order from the wrong company. I check the rates a few times a week and the last time Travelex had a higher rate was October 2011.
