My daughters passport expires in December this year (2014) does anyone know if she will be allowed to use this passport to travel to Turkey in September this year or would she need to renew it first?

I would get a new one andyr as most countries that you visit now want to see at least 6 months left on your passport. You are going to have to get one anyway and rather than any hiccups at passport control, better being safe than sorry.

You have to have 6 months left on your passport on your return travel.

Also you get up to 8 months credited on your new passport from your old one, so change in May and it will still expire in December 2024 (2019 if under 16)
