Thomas Cook exchange rate

Postby sueles810 » 26 Aug 2013 13:08

Hi,
We have just been looking to change some money now for October hols as the rate is so good at the mo, shopped round a few places then went to T.C shop ans she offered us a lower rate at first, we said no thanks we have been offered better rates elsewhere ans she just asked where and how much and said no problem we will always beat any other high street prices so we got the ineternet rate of 2.9583, as we were only changing £300.00 was really pleased with this rate, I know you can get more with internet rates but you have to spend £500.00 or you incur charges of £5.00. Will change a cou ple more hundred next month if rate is still high.

I prefer to take my chances and just change my money over there, although we are away in 10 days so any fluctuations shouldn't be as much of an issue for us than someone going in October. For those inclined to change their money before they go though, that is a great tip sueles!

Having the "funny money" in your hand used to be part of the holiday experience for me and I do miss it a bit. I'm not so sentimental that i'd forego a good deal though, and that's what we always seem to get by changing money over there. I'd also guess that it's good for the local economy, but as always it's each to their own
