Heading back to Icmeler early Thursday, this will be our 8th visit and, now that our daughter has turned 16, it may be the last time she's willing to accompany us

The last two years we stayed at the Vela Hotel, which was basic but very good, rooms were lovely, bright, clean and cool. Prior to that we stayed in the Mitos apartments on the canal, a superb location, fantastic lounge bar and great staff. This year, for a complete change we've booked the Marti Resort. We'll still be doing our fair share of eating out as that's part of the fun and enjoyment.

The wonderful heatwave we've been enjoying lately has served as acclimatisation for the Turkish heat!

don't be fooled into thinking your daughter won't want to come to icmeler with you, we've been going (me and my parents) since 2003 and when i was 16 /17 i didn't go for one year, i was so jealous when they came back! i'm 23 now and haven't missed a year since hope you guys have a lovely holiday! x
