Favourite Beach Area

Postby Cummo » 03 Jul 2013 04:58

Hi All

Just wondered where the favoured beach areas are? Taking the Grandchildren this year ages 7 & 9. Looking for reasonable price beds, sand under foot, safe water entry... and....no hassle :x

I haven't used the beach for a few years but from reports I would say the beach at Deniz Kapisa sounds the best, comfy sunbeds and imported sand, the waiters look after you and as long as you buy a drink the sunbeds are free.

Get yourself down to Deniz Kapisi - nicer sand, comfy sunbeds, quieter than many areas - and close to the beach inflatables so the kids can have a play. Waste of a holiday if you spend it all at the pool in my opinion...

Thanks Blondie

Totally agree, just wanted to provoke a reply.

We usually use Café Del Mar (Black Rock, for the older clients!).

Denis' is a fair walk from Dursun though. May try a stroll but it's looking like the end of the canal for us.....ON SATURDAY!!!!! :D :D

Fair enough - that's your opinion - but at the end of the day some people may just want to relax by the pool all day. Not saying I do but to be honest we did spend a lot of time at the hotel last year - there was so much to do and the staff & entertainment team are the best I've ever come across - so funny and so nice.

I do plan on visiting the beach a bit more this year (we only went 3 times in 10 days last year) and Deniz Kapisi will probably be our first choice. :)

We really enjoyed it at Deniz Kapisi too. Much quieter & everything you could possibly need is close at hand.

I did say it was only my opinion - but I feel people do miss out on a lot of what Icmeler has to offer if they stay by their pool at the time. I do know of some people who never venture away from their pool the whole time and to me, that seems a shame, as you could be anywhere...

Personally speaking, entertainment etc in a hotel isn't really our thing, and we love to get out and about and explore the resort and surrounding area, but hey, each to their own and all that...it would be a boring world if we all liked the same things. But the purpose of forums like these is to share information and that way people can find out the various options and make their own minds up...

Sorry Blondie, hope I didn't offend you - wasn't intentional if I did - I will definitely be out and about more this year - thanks to this forum and various facebook pages I have a list of restaurants as long as my arm - will have to start whittling the list down as I can't possibly go them all lol

No, not offended at all - just trying explain what I meant. Hope you have fun venturing out and about and trying some of the great places to eat, but you're right - there are so many that you can't get round them all! Still, at least it's another excuse to go back again...

It's the Grand Aquarium LynnJenny - it's in the old part of town - a stones throw from Tommy's Bar - where you can also get Dolmus or Taxi's if you don't fancy the 20 minute walk (although it's a very pretty walk) into Icmeler centre.

It really is a good place and if you have children, they will love it! I've never been back to the same location or hotel but this was so good I booked it again back in December - have literally been counting down the days and weeks since then lol - just 35 more sleeps and we will be back, can't wait :)

And Blondie - like we really need an excuse to go back... lol

Just a quick question: Is Deniz Kapisi near the Golmar end of the beach?

Yes, it is - dolmus stop is just outside too if you don't want to walk all the way down there - or back to the Grand Aquarium.

Yes Deniz Kapisi is the first then Harmony Bar (Stella) and then Liberty with the jetty all are free chairs, umbrellas and small good beaches, with lots of lads who work very hard to please you and very helful.

I really wish I liked the beach more. I just cannot stand the sand getting everywhere and the sea for some reason gives me a rash (though when I go on a boat trip it doesn't affect me, weird). I have used the jetty at Liberty too to stop being on the sand but isn't that enjoyable really, for an adult let alone kids. I'm a pool person, but hey, each to their own. I have heard that Denis Kapisi is the best area on the beach and sounds like the best for kids for sure.

Hi,,just returned yesterday from Icmeler after 2 very enjoyable weeks at the Diva.Tried theCoco beach a few times but really the hassle you get for drinks etc is a pain.Yes we do have drinks but only when we fancy some.not every hour.Spent the second week mainly at the pool.
