My Hols

Postby Colette » 13 Oct 2006 20:12

I posted this today but it seems to have vanished, sorry it's not very exciting.

Arrived in Dalaman just after midnight, new airport went smoothly till it came to the luggage, then we waited and waited and waited and after 45 mins off came the luggage, needless to say ours was last.
ICR Transfer was waiting with a little board with my name on it awww it made my evening lol very smooth transfer over to Icmeler arriving at hotel around 3 AM
The Hotel 47 was fab, have posted a review in the Guestbook would reccomend this Hotel to anyone, thanks to Gene for giving me his review on it last year.
Then it rained on and off for 3 days with endless power cuts and some thunder and lightning, there was nothing else for it apart from running from bar to bar to sample the Efes :) After that the weather got hotter and hotter and was lovely.
Ate at several different places, Captain Bullies, The Gondol, Florida Bar, Chefs, Lighthouse, Venice, Majestic, Harry Bar, Dreamboys, Heat and Breeze, Lemon Tree to name a few. Best meal with out a shadow of a doubt was Chefs.
Did a boat trip eventually after cancelling due to the weather and then mum was a little ill, it was great, a nice day out although I am still looking for a boat trip with less swimming stops, I will find one one year lol
I was disapointed not to get up to the old village early in a morning as I wanted to see Gene's story come to life up there but I just couldn't open my eyes before 8am.
Did a lot of walking round but one place I deffinately reccomend a small walk to is Cans Cafe, end of the canal and turn left and walk round past The Laguna Hotel for a few min, the views all around are outstanding, lovely breeze, not bad prices for drinks, could have sat there for hours just admiring the scenic views all around.
2 weeks went far to quickly, but I must thank ICR for the transfer and great to meet Rami, Sharon and Tracy over there. It was also Lovely to meet up with Dimrie, Norman and Calum, Neets, Powdrie, Karemolinos and Henry, also Halon and Mom, sorry I missed you Mr Magoo and whoever the person was from Holland asking for me in The Venice hope your hols was fabby. Sorry if I have missed anyone out.
Right I have waffled enough, I couldn't fit all my 2 weeks in here it would take up all the board, but I can't wait till next year to see all our friends again and out lovely Icmeler.

Hi Colette, sounds like you had a lovely time. It was a shame about the rain but the same happened to us when we were there in June. In fact we missed the last 2 swimming stops on the boat trip because of a thunderstorm

glad to hear you had a great time Colette. It's funny but even although you may have been to Icmeler a few times now, we always find somewhere new that we like. Thats why it is sooo difficult when we go back the next time, there are even more places we want to see/eat or visit, dont you think!
