Sweet white wine?

Postby Amy- Mansfield » 24 Jun 2013 18:53

Last year i found a really nice sweet white wine, i'm usually a rose fan but the ones in Turkey are too dry for me, anyway, i had this wine in the wayside and i think i also had it in the Lighthouse, does anyone have any idea what it could be called so i can find it again this year?! save me having to try lots again to find it

Amy, don't know if you are on Facebook, but if you are, the Wayside have their own FB page, so it might be worth asking on there and they could tell you the exact name.

Could it have been Sultanye? That is very sweet. I used to drink that, but I prefer a slightly drier one now.

Amy. I also like sweet white wine and my favouite is Senfoni (orange label). I have never had it served in a carafe so not sure if that's the one you like but I would say it is worth a try. Only problem I find is that not many restaurants serve it but can be bought in supermarkets for about 17tl per bottle.

Amy-Mansfield - been doing a bit of detective work for you and Hamdi at the Wayside says if it was the sweet white you had, it would probably been the Sultanyie, or if it was medium-sweet, it would more likely be Yazgan. Hope that helps...
