I did mine at the weekend, you print the visa out and hand it in at passport control, the bonus is that it has the expiry date on it so of you go back later in the year you have proof that you have already paid

I think it's a good idea being able to get your visa online. I know it works out slightly more than when actually at the airport, but for those arriving main season and especially on a Monday or Friday I would advise getting the visa online as these are the busiest days of the week at the airport and your time could be spent waiting to get your visa

If you are enering via Istanbul I would definitely get it online rather than queue with every nationality in the world and make you miss your connecting flight

Never thought of that, JT - thanks for the tip, and we might just do that, seeing as we are coming via Istanbul this time. :)

I heard that a couple going through Bodrum airport were pulled out of the crowd this week, and made to go to a police station as the locals hadn't got the scheme fully up & running - that would be both embarrassing and humiliating in a crowded airport.

Will this process of applying for a Visa become compulsory so that you won't have to queue up at the Visa section at Dalaman any more? When you apply online will you be charged more money instead of the usual £10.00 Sterling?

It's an option and I can't see it ever being compulsory. If you look at the posts above, it is charged in US Dollars and at current exchange rates is a bit more expensive.
